Mogli arrested in Delhi, Police raid hideouts of shooters linked with Gogi gang

Delhi Police targets notorious gangsters, networks.

As part of a huge crackdown on organized crime gangs, the Delhi Police has upped the ante against several notorious gangs. According to sources, an all-out campaign was launched across the capital by organizing overnight raids at different hideouts of these gangs in the quest to capture active and wanted criminals led by gangsters such as Lawrence Bishnoi, Kaushal Chaudhary, Himanshu Bhau, Kala Jathedi, Hashim Baba, Chhenu, Gogi, Neeraj Bawania, and Tillu Tajpuria.

One of the notable arrest during the operation was wanted shooter Mogli, associated with the Gogi Gang. The accused had already fired at a businessman’s hideout on November 4. Following a tip-off, the Special Cell of Delhi Police put up a checkpost near the Khera canal. The accused was spotted arriving on a motorcycle, and while the police tried to intercept him, he lost his balance over the motorcycle and started firing. Police retaliated as he was initially firing in self-defense and hurt Mogli in the left leg. He was then overpowered and taken to a hospital for treatment.

This operation is covering Outer Delhi, Dwarka, North East Delhi, Narela, Kanjhawala, and Sangam Vihar areas of Delhi. The crackdown included the Special Cell, Crime Branch, local police, and Special Staff units targeting associates and henchmen reportedly linked to the notorious gangs. Several others, beside Mogli, have been detained for questioning. In recent incidents of violence, including shootings and murders carried out by operatives of the gangs, police are investigating their involvement.

In another development, Special Cell had earlier busted a breakthrough in October 2024 by arresting seven shooters of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. These people have been taken into custody from Punjab and the adjacent areas, and a cache of weapons has been recovered from them. Their investigation would be done along with quizzing over their role in high-profile cases, including Baba Siddiqui.

Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency has stepped up its manhunt for brother Anmol Bishnoi of Lawrence Bishnoi, an underworld gangster who is already spending his days in jail. A reward of Rs 10 lakh by the NIA has announced for his arrest, as his name is there in two charge sheets filed by the agency in 2022.

It is believed that Delhi police are making a significant effort to disrupt and put an end to the illegal operations of the established gang networks in the area with these crackdowns.
