If the word ‘betrayed’ could take the form of a community, it would be without an iota of doubt the Hindu community. Hindus, a community who are responsible for the building of the world’s oldest and thriving civilisation are known to give home to different communities of different religions in their land without putting forward the demand to leave their own faith and accept theirs.
Yet, as the saying goes, the world is a nasty place to live in where the memory of benevolence is easily erased. The world can be a harsh place, where acts of kindness are all too easily forgotten. Hindus today have no place where they can reside without the fear of being persecuted for their religious beliefs. Be it Canada, Bangladesh or even the US, the atrocities against Hindus are reported on a daily basis.
Canada-
Hinduphobia and attacks upon Hindus and their Temples have increased multiple fold in the past few years with Khalistani extremists being provided with the garden of Eden in Canada from literally every major political party in Canada. Hindus temples being vandalized by Khalistani goons with Anti-India, Anti-Hindu graffiti being scribbled on the walls has come up to be a regular phenomenon in Canada. Be it in Edmonton, Greater Toronto Area, British Columbia or other places in Canada, vandalism of Hindu temples have repeatedly come into picture.
Recently, on the 3rd of November, Khalistani goons stormed the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton, Canada, attacking Hindu devotees, including women. Disturbingly, Peel Regional Police, who arrived on the scene with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) instead of detaining Khalistanis targeted the Hindu devotees using batons and even striking some devotees in the head.
Moreover, no Canadian politician except Chandra Arya had the guts to call out the Khalistani goons. With both the major political parties of Canada, The Liberal and the Conservative sitting on the lap of Khalistanis, the Canadian Hindus are left with limited options.
United States
The United States too sees an alarming rise of Hinduphobia so much so that the former President and the current Presidential Candidate from the Republican party had to mention this in his tweet. In recent months, Hindu temples in the United States have faced disturbing incidents of vandalism.
In January, California’s Vijay Sherawali Temple was defaced with pro-Khalistan slogans. In September, the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Sacramento was similarly desecrated with anti-Hindu graffiti, following a similar attack on a BAPS temple in New York. Adding to these incidents, a protest against a newly unveiled Hanuman statue at the Ashtalakshmi Temple in Texas saw a Christian group disrupt temple peace by engaging temple visitors in baseless debates and shouting anti-hindu slogans like, “May all the false gods burn to the ground.”.
Also according to reports by the California Civil Rights Department, the anti-Hindu hate crimes in California have become the second-most reported form of religious bias which indicates the concerning rise of Hinduphobia.
Bangladesh-
Like the Canadian government backing Khalistanis, the so-called interim government of Bangladesh led by Muhammad Yunus has given Jamaat-e-Islami a free hand to persecute the Hindu community. After the violent ouster of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh by Islamists, and the takeover of Bangladesh by Mohammad Yunus, Bangladeshi Hindus underwent a brutal genocide. Radical Ismalist political group was given free hands to unleash genocide against the Hindu community by Muhammad Yunus. Within days of the political shift, reports emerged of over 200 targeted attacks, including killings, lynching, looting, and sexual assaults against the Hindu community. The genocide spread to almost every district of Bangladesh with Jammat-e-Islami being the flagbearer of the brutality.
Ahead of Durga Puja, the Islamist groups intensified threats, demanding payments from Hindu communities to conduct their religious celebrations. In Khulna, Hindu leaders were asked to pay 5 lakh Bangladeshi taka (nearly, Rs 3,50,726) to celebrate Durga Puja. Moreover in many places during Durga Puja, several pandals were attacked, Maa Durga idols were vandalized and Hindus were assaulted including women and children.
From Canada to Bangladesh and elsewhere, the perpetrators will continue to take the monstrous form of Khalistan and Jamaat-e-Islami, until the day, Hindus start saying, “Thus far and no further”.
These attacks underscore the significance of the slogan put forth by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, “Batenge to Katenge” which translates to “If we are divided, we will be cut down.” Incidentally, the Canadian Hindus also raised this slogan as they gathered outside the Hindu Sabha temple in a show of unity against the rampant attacks on Hindus and their temples.
Strikingly, the call to unity serves as a rallying cry for the Hindu community to stand firm against the rising tide of anti-Hindu sentiment and violence. The Hindu community must remember that when the time comes it will be only our fellow Hindus who will stand with us!! United we stand, divided we fall!!!
