Zakir Naik Pakistan Tour: Unmasking the Left's Favorite Islamist

An Islamist used to start preaching in some corner on earth, Surah Al- Mulk, Chapter number X, Page Number X, Verse Number X , bringing the supreme pleasure to the Islamo-Leftist living in India enjoying the resources of the Hindu civilization.

The entire ecosystem erupted in celebration upon hearing that this very Islamist was en route to their beloved nation, Pakistan. The scene evoked memories of the iconic moment in the film ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham,’ where Shah Rukh Khan, upon returning home, rushes toward Jaya Bachchan, who awaits him with tears glistening in her eyes.

Pakistan Rolled Out Red Carpet For Fugitive Islamic Preacher Zakir Naik who arrived in Pakistan on 1st of October after he was invited by the Government of Pakistan to address public gatherings at Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore. Upon his arrival at the New Islamabad Airport, he was received by leaders from the top echelons of the Pakistan government.

Pakistan inviting an Islamist preacher was shocking to none. What went shocking was the resistance offered to Zakir Naik by a section of Pakistan. Powerful voices came out from within Pakistan such as actress Mishi Khan, Omar Iffat who stood against Zakir Naik and questioned the Pakistani Government for inviting him.  It was astonishing to witness Pakistani liberals raise their voices in opposition to the Islamist preacher, all while recalling the accolades and reverence that Zakir Naik received from Indian liberals.

Upon his arrival in Pakistan, Islamist preacher Zakir Naik is dominating the minds of many but unfortunately, it’s for all the wrong reasons. Zakir Naik has embroiled himself in controversies from all angles, reducing him to nothing more than a laughingstock.  The weight of these controversies has effectively undermined his credibility, making him a figure of derision rather than respect.

Offensive and Misogynistic comments against women-

During the visit to Pakistan, Dr. Zakir Naik took part in an interview with renowned Pakistani journalist Fereeha Idris, during which he made statements widely considered offensive and misogynistic. His remarks about women and men’s reactions to them sparked widespread outrage across the nation, igniting an essential debate about the status of women in Pakistani society and the responsibility of public figures in influencing social attitudes.

In the interview, Islamist Zakir Naik made a highly contentious claim, asserting that if a man watches a woman, particularly a news anchor, for half an hour without feeling any “stirring” within him, something is wrong, and he should consult a physician. He implied that men should inherently feel aroused when observing women, especially in professional environments like television.

This assertion was met with immediate and vehement backlash on social media. Critics argued that such comments not only belittle women but also foster a toxic and harmful viewpoint on gender relations.

Criticizing the Pakistan International Airlines-

Zakir Naik, publicly criticised  Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) regarding their baggage policy during his return to Pakistan from Malaysia. In his address to supporters in Karachi, Naik expressed frustration over PIA’s refusal to waive extra baggage charges, which he felt was unjust given his status as a guest of the government. He reported that he and his companions were carrying approximately 1,000 kilograms of luggage, and when he discussed this with the airline’s station manager, he was only offered a 50% discount on the excess baggage fees. This response was particularly disappointing to him, as he asserted that in India, he often receives more favorable treatment, including having excess baggage fees waived altogether. His remarks quickly went viral on social media, drawing a mix of ridicule and criticism from netizens.

Turning blind eye upon Adultery, Paedophilia-

During a public gathering in Karachi, Zakir Naik faced backlash from a young Pashtun woman who questioned why societal issues like drug addiction, adultery, and paedophilia persist in devout Islamic communities. When she asked why these problems are often overlooked by Muslim scholars, Naik initially responded with a dismissive joke about men following women’s examples. As she pressed for deeper answers, he interrupted, claiming, “There is no mention of paedophilia in the Quran,” and accused her of defaming Islam. Naik insisted that Muslims cannot commit sexual abuse and suggested she apologize to God before he would engage further. This exchange sparked online criticism of Naik’s evasive attitude.

His Jannat comment-

Zakir Naik claimed that people in Pakistan have a better chance of attaining ‘Jannat’ than those residing in the United States, a remark that was met with significant backlash from Pakistani citizens for which he was described  as a fraudster by many.

Not Daughters but Non-Mahram-

A video of Zakir Naik went viral where he was seen  leaving the stage in a hurry when he was introduced to a group of young girls from an orphanage who were referred to as “daughters” by the event’s organizers as he went uncomfortable with this terminology, arguing that these girls should not be called his daughters. He stated, “You cannot touch them or call them your daughters,” emphasizing that such titles are inappropriate given their status as non-mahrams.

Zakir Naik’s Black Past: Accusations of Terrorism, Misogyny, and Hinduphobia

Zakir Naik, the Fugitive Islamic preacher, is currently wanted in India for alleged hate speech that incites extremism and for his involvement in money laundering activities. His channel, PeaceTV, has been banned in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka due to its provocative content, and both the United Kingdom and Canada have denied him entry, further isolating him on the international stage.

Zakir Naik’s troubles intensified in 2016 when he fled India and settled permanently in Malaysia. Recently, during a visit by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to New Delhi, the Indian government raised concerns regarding Naik’s activities. In response, Ibrahim stated that Malaysia would not tolerate terrorism if sufficient evidence were presented against the fugitive preacher.

Zakir Naik is widely recognized as a vocal supporter of terrorists, exhibiting Hinduphobic sentiments and misogynistic views. He has expressed support for Osama bin Laden, claiming that “every Muslim should be a terrorist.” Naik has advocated for the death penalty for homosexuals and apostates and controversially stated that men have the right to physically discipline their wives. He has also made numerous derogatory comments about Hinduism, including its deities. Furthermore, he has defended the practices of ISIS, such as the use of sex slaves and the destruction of places of worship belonging to non-Muslims.

Zakir Naik’s Love for Indian National Congress

In a 2019 interview with The Week, published by The Malayala Manorama Co. Ltd., Zakir Naik spoke exclusively from his residence in Putrajaya, Malaysia, addressing the possibility of his return to India in the event of a change in government. He expressed a sense of optimism regarding his chances, stating, “Yes, of course, the chances of returning are much more.” However, he clarified that he did not expect to return immediately if there were a change in leadership, as the legal proceedings against him would still need to be addressed. Naik emphasized his willingness to cooperate with the authorities, but under the condition that he would not face unjust persecution.
