The Israeli military carried out air strikes on Iran in another escalation, as the conflict in the middle east continues to rage. Israel conducted strikes in three areas late in the night on the 25th of October, hitting military bases in the capital Tehran as well as sites in the western province of Ilam and south-western Khuzestan.
Israel says its “precise and targeted strikes” on Iranian military sites overnight were “in different areas”. In Iran’s air defence forces said in a statement that the attacks had been successfully countered with “limited damage” in some locations.

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed the strikes as a response to Iran’s past aggressions and asserted that they are mobilized to take any necessary action in the future. Taking to X the official handle of the IDF wrote, “In response to months of continuous attacks from the regime in Iran against the State of Israel—right now the Israel Defense Forces is conducting precise strikes on military targets in Iran.”
“The regime in Iran and its proxies in the region have been relentlessly attacking Israel since October 7th—on seven fronts—including direct attacks from Iranian soil. Like every other sovereign country in the world, the State of Israel has the right and the duty to respond. Our defensive and offensive capabilities are fully mobilized. We will do whatever necessary to defend the State of Israel and the people of Israel.” the statement concluded
“I can now confirm that we have concluded the Israeli response to Iran’s attacks against Israel. We conducted targeted and precise strikes on military targets in Iran — thwarting immediate threats to the State of Israel.”

The Attack on Iran
Reports of explosions near Tehran began to emerge around 2:15 a.m. local time, with the Israel Defense Forces quickly releasing a statement confirming that it was attacking, in response to “months of continuous attacks from the Iranian regime against the State of Israel.”
The strikes were carried out in several waves over the course of several hours, in various areas of Iran, with the Islamic Republic closing its airspace for the duration and seemingly showing little ability to counter the assault. Strikes were reported in the Tehran, Karaj, Isfahan and Shiraz areas.
The next waves hit drone and ballistic missile manufacturing sites — those used in direct Iranian attacks on Israel on April 14 and October 1 — as well as sites used to launch such weapons. Iran confirmed an Israeli attack had targeted military sites in the capital Tehran and other parts of the country, but said it had caused “limited damage” and that the air defense systems had successfully countered much of the attacks, an assertion dismissed by Israel.
“If the regime in Iran were to make the mistake of beginning a new round of escalation — we will be obligated to respond,” he continued. “Our message is clear: All those who threaten the State of Israel and seek to drag the region into a wider escalation will pay a heavy price. We demonstrated today that we have both the capability and the resolve to act decisively, and we are prepared — on offense and defense — to defend Israel and the people of Israel.” the IDF said.
Retaliation to Iran’s aggressions
The situation in the region has been extremely tense since last years’ Hamas attacks on Israel. The Jewish nation responded by striking the terrorist outfit first, then taking on the threat of Hezbollah in Lebanon. Iran which is considered the mastermind behind the two radical outfits has been fighting a proxy war with its arch nemesis Israel through radical groups like the Hezbollah, Hamas and Houthis.
Israel has since assassinated major terror leaders like Hasan Nasrallah, Ismail Haniyeh and more recently the October 7 Hamas attack mastermind Yahya Sinwar. The clash continued escalating when Iran responded by launching a huge missile barrage against Israel, targeting major cities of the Jewish nation. A retaliation from Israel had long been expected and now it has come, with air strikes targeting even the capital of Iran.
