Elections are going to be held for the post of National President in the ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party at the center. The responsibility of this has been given to Rajya Sabha MP from Telangana K. Laxman. BJP’s current National President Jagat Prakash Nadda was given the command of the party in the year 2020. After this, his tenure was extended in the year 2023 and he was appointed as the working president of the party.
Bharatiya Janata Party’s National General Secretary Arun Singh has issued a letter. It states that the party’s national president Jagat Prakash Nadda has appointed election officers and co-election officers for the organization’s elections. In this, Rajya Sabha MP from Telangana and National President of BJP’s OBC Morcha K. Laxman has been made the election officer and Rajya Sabha MP from Uttarakhand Naresh Bansal, party’s national vice-president Rekha Verma and MP from Odisha Sambit Patra have been made co-election officers.
It is noteworthy that K. Laxman was considered the biggest contender for the post of party president. But now his claim has been ended by giving the responsibility of the election. K. Laxman has also been an MLA from Andhra Pradesh from 1999 to 2004 and from Telangana from 2014 to 2018.
K. Laxman’s name is counted among the senior leaders of BJP. He is one of the strongest faces of the OBC class, which is why the party made him the national president of the OBC Morcha in 2020. However, there are still many big contenders in the BJP. Let us tell you that under the leadership of Jagat Prakash Nadda, the BJP not only won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections but also won many assembly elections one after the other.
