During the India Today Conclave on Thursday (26th September), ‘journalist’ Rajdeep Sardesai suffered another public humiliation when Union Minister Nitin Gadkari dubbed him a complete “liar”.
Notably, his recent public humiliation unfolded when he along with his colleague Sahil were interviewing Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. The interviewers asked him about the Maharashtra elections, alleged rift between him and the saffron party and his ambitions for the Prime Minister’s post.

During the interaction, Sardesai claimed that there is a public buzz that Nitin Gadkari is “upset”, “you don’t want to involve in this Maharashtra (assembly) elections”, he added.
Sardesai added, “You are happily living in Delhi and don’t want to get into the mess of the Maharashtra elections.” He then went on to allege, “you believe someone in your party tried to defeat you in Nagpur. Today, you must tell us the truth.”
Retorting sharply to his internal sabotage theory, Minister Gadkari slammed Rajdeep saying, “Firstly, the truth is, ‘You are a complete liar (101% jhooth ho). Yes, yes this is true, aap jhoot ho. I am talking with responsibility”. The Minister explained that everything Rajdeep Sardesai said was a “lie”.
Additionally, Minister Gadkari slammed a visibly rattled Rajdeep Sardesai for repeatedly interjecting him in mid-sentence. Consequently, he advised Rajdeep to at least hear the response.
Regarding his official responsibility within the party, Gadkari pointed out that he had been campaigning for the party in poll-bound Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana as well as in Bengaluru. “When I am campaigning in J&K, how can I stay in Maharashtra?”, the Minister submitted.
Gadkari pondered, “It raises a question as to why a senior journalist like you (Rajdeep) is asking such factually baseless questions when the state party president had already updated about this.”

Rajdeep suffered another embarrassing moment during the same interaction when he tried to project friction and strife between PM Modi and Nitin Gadkari. In reply, the Union Minister came down heavily on Rajdeep and asked him to “speak responsibly”.
Even when the propaganda of BJP delaying Nitin Gadkari’s ticket had been busted multiple times, Sardesai alleged, “You had to meet PM Modi at Nagpur Airport & only then was your ticket finalised.”
Minister Gadkari retorted saying, “Did the Prime Minister whisper this in your ears? What proof do you have? SPEAK RESPONSIBLY.”

Nonetheless, it is pertinent to note that this was not the first time when the spouse of TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghosh, Rajdeep suffered public humiliation for his ‘lies’. He has been notorious for lying through his teeth and has constantly been on the receiving side from hosts, panelists, netizens and general public alike.
