In Nanning, China, bikers and pedestrians witnessed a “sh*t show” this week. In a bizarre and stomach-churning incident, after a sewage pipe explosion, a fountain of human excreta shot up 33 feet into the air before raining down on unsuspecting commuters.
Visuals shared on social media displayed the grotesque scene, with waste spraying into the air and splattering the windshields of cars and trucks on a busy road in the communist country. Pedestrians were also left covered in human excreta.
Dashcam footage had gone viral showing one car’s windscreen completely coated in poop following the sudden eruption of the orange fountain. In the aftermath, motorists and pedestrians had to navigate the stinky avenue.
This horrific incident occurred while construction workers were conducting a pressure test on a newly installed sewage pipe, according to a report in The Mirror. Several vehicles were damaged due to the unexpected explosion, but fortunately, no one was injured.
A massive clean-up operation was launched in China by officials following the blast. However, Nanning municipal authorities denied claims that the rupture resulted from accidental damage during construction.
“My car is stained yellow and it smells. I can’t continue using it,” one driver told local reporters. Another irate driver said, “I am drenched in poo.”
