Israel has been jolted by a series of devastating attacks from the notorious terror organization, Hamas, on multiple fronts. These attacks have left the nation in shock and turmoil. The toll is grim, with more than 300 people confirmed dead, hundreds missing, and over 2,000 injured. In response to this aggression, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared the country’s focus on restoring security and exacting an “immense price from the enemy.”
Addressing a Security Cabinet meeting, Netanyahu called upon citizens to unite for victory in the ongoing conflict. “Since this morning, the State of Israel has been at war. Our first objective is to clear out the hostile forces that infiltrated our territory and restore security and quiet to the communities that have been attacked. The second objective, at the same time, is to exact an immense price from the enemy, within the Gaza Strip as well. The third objective is to reinforce other fronts so that nobody should mistakenly join this war,” Netanyahu said at the meeting.
However, as more details emerge, it appears that Israel is on the brink of another multiple-front war reminiscent of the 1967 Six-Day War. One alarming incident occurred on October 8th when an Egyptian policeman opened fire on Israeli tourists in Alexandria, a Mediterranean city. This attack unfolded at the historic Pompey’s Pillar site and resulted in the tragic deaths of at least two Israeli tourists and one Egyptian, with the possibility of the death toll rising.

Furthermore, Qatar’s foreign ministry issued a statement that seemed to almost back Hamas for its horrific actions against the innocent people of Israel. The statement called for restraint from both sides and urged the international community to prevent Israel from launching what Qatar termed as a “disproportionate war” against Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
Lebanon also entered the fray by aligning itself with Hamas in an attack on Israel. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that in response to a Hezbollah attack from Lebanon into Israel, IDF artillery struck targets in the area. Additionally, an IDF unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) targeted Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure near Mount Dov.

Furthermore, a historical parallel to the Six-Day War emerges with a Pakistani angle. Despite being battered economically and culturally, the Pakistani establishment has expressed support for Hamas. Figures like Ahmed Hassan have made provocative statements, suggesting that India should prepare for a conflict similar to the one that occurred during the Six-Day War, when Pakistan sent fighter jets to support Arab forces. It was another matter that both the Arab and Pakistani forces bit dust against Israel.
