In the world of movies, we often notice a difference between how heroes and villains act on screen versus off screen. But there’s one person who breaks this pattern – Prakash Raj. He’s just as unpleasant in real life as he is in his villain roles, like his role of “Jaikant Shikre” from Singham. A recent example of Prakash Raj absolute contempt for anything pro India reflects in his attitude towards India’s “Chandrayaan 3 mission.” This has made a lot of Indians upset on social media. It’s like he can’t step out of his negative on-screen character, even when talking about real achievements.
As Chandrayaan 3 gears up for its historic Moon landing, tweet of Prakash Raj has stirred a debate on social media. He shared a cartoon joking about the “first picture from the Moon,” which upset many X users.
Comedian Appurv Gupta pointed out the difference between criticizing a government and disliking one’s country. As per his tweet, “The problem with Hate is, once you start hating someone then eventually your hate becomes so strong that you start hating everyone. You forgot the difference between the person, ideology and national achievement. Everything looks the same! Sad to see a talented actor behaving like this!”

Others worried that Raj’s comment might be used for political agendas, overshadowing a significant national feat. One user commented, “Prakash ji, this Chandryaan mission is from ISRO not BJP. If it gets succeed, it’s for India not for any party. Why you want this mission to fail? BJP is just a ruling party. It will go one day. But, ISRO will remain for years and will make us proud. In search of truth, you’re forgetting basic nationalism. India’s failure shouldn’t be a victory. Keep ISRO aside from this political hate.”

Even Abhishek Manu Singhvi from the Congress party criticized Raj’s tweet. He emphasized that the success of Chandrayaan is for all Indians, regardless of political beliefs. As per his tweet,
“I condemn Prakash Raj for this shameful tweet. Success of ISRO is success of India.”

However, it doesn’t look like Prakash Raj even realizes the gravity of the incident, forget accepting it and issue an apology. He posted a rather defiant post on X, claiming,
“Hate sees only Hate… I was referring to a joke of #Armstrong times … celebrating our Kerala Chaiwala … which Chaiwala did the TROLLS see?? … If you dont get a joke then the joke is on you .. GROW UP #justasking!”

This incident also shows history of Prakash Raj of criticizing the Modi government. While criticism is not a crime, the line between criticizing policies and rejecting the country itself can be blurry. Raj’s tweet teaches us about the impact of public figures’ words. It reveals how seemingly small remarks can trigger big discussions, touching on patriotism, identity, and the power of the digital age.
To sum it up, this incident reflects the ongoing conversations about patriotism, freedom of speech, and finding a balance between personal views and national pride. As Chandrayaan-3’s mission progresses, it’s a reminder that public figures have a role in shaping the country’s story and uniting a diverse population.
