Just when we thought Congress had its act together in Rajasthan, along came the one and only Rajendra Singh Gudha to shake things up! It’s like watching a comedy show with the Congress party as the main act – they’re a gift that keeps on giving, and it seems they’ve got a knack for self-sabotage.
Let’s start with Gudha, a minister in the Gahlot government, who dared to speak the truth. Shocking, right? In a land where politicians are known for beating around the bush, Gudha decided to break the trend and questioned his own government’s efforts to combat crimes against women. Kudos to his bravery for going against the tide of hypocrisy!
No country for honesty!
But as you might have guessed, the Congress didn’t take it too kindly. Poor Gudha was unceremoniously sacked by Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot for his audacity to criticize the state government. Oh, Congress, so fragile is your ego! Instead of taking the opportunity to reflect on their actions, they preferred to sweep the issue under the carpet like it never happened.

For those unaware, Congress legislators raised placards in protest of violence in Manipur while the Rajasthan Minimum Income Guarantee Bill 2023 was under consideration. Now, this could have been a moment of solidarity and unity, but Gudha had different priorities. He demanded accountability from his own administration for the atrocities committed against women. Well, you can’t really blame him, can you? He wanted to address the elephant in the room while others were busy admiring their placards.

It is true & should be accepted that we have failed in women's safety. Instead of Manipur, we should look within ourselves that atrocities on women have increased in Rajasthan pic.twitter.com/1ZUJkt5W5c

Hold your laughter, folks, it gets better! The Congress, in their infinite wisdom, decided to banish Gudha from the Assembly building. They even suspended him along with a BJP MLA, Madan Dilawar, for the duration of the monsoon session. Is this how Congress deals with dissent? Someone get them a crash course in democracy!
Gudha had a red diary in hand, which seemed to hold the secrets of the universe (at least that’s what Congress believed). The poor man was eager to present his findings, but the Congress Speaker wasn’t having any of it. It seems the mere mention of that “red diary” was enough to send shivers down their spines.
What makes Congress shiver?
And here we are, wondering what Congress is so scared of! Are they afraid of facing the truth? Are they afraid of their own ministers pointing out their flaws? With a lack of a credible opposition, the 2023 elections were almost a cakewalk for them. But now, thanks to the Gudha affair, they might find themselves biting more than they can chew.

One can’t help but feel for Gahlot, who probably thought he had everything under control. But alas, in the circus that is Congress, control is nothing more than an illusion. It’s a roller coaster ride where one moment you’re on top, and the next, you’re down in the dumps, wondering how it all went wrong.
The comedy show that is Congress in Rajasthan is far from over. With each passing day, we’re left wondering what new act they’ll come up with next. Until then, let’s enjoy the spectacle, for who knows what is next?
