Apart from the Karnataka elections, if there is any topic that remains the centre of discussion, it is “The Kerala Story”. This film has given sleepless nights to many, especially the left liberal intelligentsia. The work which lakhs of feminists could not do with their high-quality crap, this film did without any fanfare, and also proved that the so-called activists fighting for the emancipation of women are actually the B-team of such fanatics.

“The Kerala Story” is literally having a blast at the box office. In less than two weeks, this film has proved that if the premise is solid, figures like 150 crores, 200 crores etc. are child’s play. However, there is one more thing, over which few people have even attempted to focus.
The film was described by alleged feminists as agenda oriented, full of “propaganda”. Well, one can understand their anguish, because despite such vitriol, the film has beaten the lifetime collection of even the most classic, feminist films. Forget Alia Bhatt, Kangana Ranaut, even Vidya Balan’s biggest projects have been left miles behind by this film.

For example, the current collection of “The Kerala Story” is around 147 crores. This is more than the entire domestic collection of Gangubai Kathiawadi, which was a little over 130 crores, while its budget was around 160 crores. Not only this, the film has beaten films like “Raazi”, “Manikarnika”, even “Veere Di Wedding” which have received accolades in one form or the other, and some of which have even earned Feminists have showered accolades ad infinitum.
Promoting extremism as “freedom of expression”
But why would feminists be upset with this film? It is based on the oppression of women, it shows how gruesome exploitation of some girls is done in the name of religion, it pleads for the protection of humanity, no?

To be blunt, our feminists have certain parameters according to which they will call a film good or bad. If a man is abused in a film, questions are raised on family as well as Indian culture, and most importantly, other religions are glorified ad nauseam, then that film is not a film, it is synonymous with revolution. If you don’t believe it, watch the praise for Bhumi Pednekar’s role in a film like “Bheed”.
Kashmir Files and Kerala Story are not films but state sponsored propaganda.

But this is only the beginning. Just take a look at the reaction of all the flag bearers of feminism over “The Kerala Story”. On the one hand, Sakshi Joshi, who says that only 3 girls have been converted, what happened. We haven’t begun with the way feminist in chief Dhruv Rathee has crossed every length and breadth to justify such atrocities. On the other hand, Arfa Khanum Sherwani and Rana Ayyub have not only tried to prove this film as toxic, but have also tried to prove it to the audience who like it as boorish and stupid. I don’t know why, whether it is communism or feminism, everyone turns around and comes to defend Islamism only! Daya pata lagaao, kuch to gadbad hai!
