BJP kept on neglecting Hindus and expected to vote for them. The result is Karnataka

Let’s be blunt. Karnataka is not the only thing that the BJP has lost. A question mark has been raised on its credibility, and this is not a good sign, especially in the run-up to the 2024 elections. But to be honest, the fault solely lies with the party. If the party is still not well prepared, it is in for a rude shock on the lines similar to that of the 2018 assembly drubbing.

Karnataka’s mistakes, that cannot be ignored

In a recent turn of events, the BJP has been dealt a staggering blow in the assembly elections, securing a mere 66 seats out of 224, marking one of their lowest performances since 2004. This unexpected outcome has ignited a division on social media, with two distinct factions emerging. One faction contends that the BJP’s departure from Hindutva principles, owing to the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas,” has led to their downfall. On the other hand, there are those who attribute the fault not to the BJP, but rather to the Hindus themselves, who are accused of entrusting their state to opportunistic forces allured by promises of freebies. The discourse remains fervent as opinions clash in this unfolding chapter of political dynamics.

BJP Eyes Bengal: Can Bihar Win Fuel a Political Wave in West Bengal?

Amidst the labyrinth of perspectives, lies a crucial truth that demands our attention. It is the BJP itself that made the decision to restore the administration of temples to the priests in Karnataka, a commendable step indeed. However, it is the same BJP that has maintained a troubling silence, a silence that echoes loudly, in the face of countless Hindu lives lost, including that of Praveen Nettaru. Instead of seeking justice for these victims, the BJP’s actions have been marred by selective lathi-charging, suppressing the very voices that dare to speak up for their fallen brethren.

Alarming signs manifest for the party as the BJP finds itself compelled to laboriously prove its dominance even in Coastal Karnataka, the most powerful bastion of the BJP in the south of India. While the ban on PFI is a step in the right direction, why does the party falter in completing the task? Why does it not impose a comprehensive ban on all factions, leaving the work unfinished? These questions demand answers as the delicate balance of accountability and responsibility teeters on a precarious precipice.

Remember Nupur Sharma?

In the realm where the rights of Hindus have been overshadowed, an equally significant matter emerges: the case of Nupur Sharma. If the sentiments of certain individuals are to be heeded, a wave of discontent has engulfed those concerned about the well-being of the former spokesperson. While extensive deliberations surround this topic, one cannot deny that in their pursuit of a balanced decision, the BJP inadvertently inflicted harm upon itself, firing a shot that reverberated through its own foundations.

In a deeply regrettable twist, the BJP’s ill-advised decision to suspend Nupur Sharma sent a shockingly misguided message among the public.

Oh Okay!  Let me ask straightforward questions to the esteemed party leadership: What was Nupur Sharma’s mistake? Did she advocate for the genocide of any community? Did she defend abhorrent crimes, much like the self-proclaimed fact checkers persist in doing?

This unfortunate incident befalls a woman who dared to engage in a debate with a solitary fundamentalist, representing the very community that the BJP claims to champion. Yet, behold her fate today—she is unable to emerge into the light of day.

Dear BJP, if you cannot even safeguard your own party workers, especially when they stand on the side of truth and righteousness, how in the world do you expect to instill any semblance of confidence in the wider public? This glaring inconsistency is infuriating and demands immediate rectification.

No compromise on Hindutva

As we speak of Nupur Sharma, let’s also throw some light on the Hindutva of the BJP. At this time the central leadership is as clueless as a headless chicken. Take Tripura for example. Biplab Kumar Deb, who responded to the hardliners in their own language, and developed Tripura into a stronghold, was suddenly removed from his post, without a specific reason.

Also read: Devegowdas were Congress’ honourable guests until 2 days back. Now, they’re mongrels

When even the national president himself publicly asserts that saffron and BJP are not synonymous, what more can one expect? Is there truly no viable solution? Those who hold such sentiments, along with those who believe that the Congress should cease doling out freebies, ought to cast their gaze towards Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand was on the brink of becoming another Karnataka, but suddenly, Pushkar Singh Dhami assumed the mantle of leadership and swiftly made decisions in the best interest of Hindus.

The situation grew so dire that the adversaries of India had no choice but to seek refuge in the hallowed halls of the Supreme Court. Indeed, we are referring to the resolute anti-encroachment drive in Haldwani.

As we reflect upon the diverse fabric of each state that translates into electoral dynamics, one pressing question resonates: If Uttarakhand can display unwavering determination and if Uttar Pradesh can stride forward with the remarkable amalgamation of Hindutva and progress, then what obstacles obstruct the path for the rest of India? What impedes the BJP in its quest? These inquiries beckon answers, for the enigmatic paradox continues to perplex and dismay.
