Jammu Raghunath Temple – Guide
Raghunath Temple is located in Jammu city, Jammu and Kashmir. This temple is not only the faith of Hindu religion but also the identity of the city of Jammu. This temple is the biggest and main temple of North India. This temple is dedicated to Lord Rama. This temple is a prime example of Indian art.
History of this Temple
Jammu Raghunath Temple was built in 1835-1860 by Maharaja Ranveer Singh and his father Maharaja Gulab Singh. This temple has 7 historical religious complex. The Ram temple is studded with gold which is the form of brightness. The idols of many gods and goddesses of the temple are installed and in this temple lingams of 33 crore gods and goddesses of Hindu religion are also made, which is a history in temples and this feature separates it from all other temples of India.
The construction of this temple was started in 1835 by Raja Gulab Singh. But the temple was completed during the time of King Ranveer Singh. Inside the temple, the walls are plated with gold on three sides.
Jammu Raghunath Temple Timings
Jammu Raghunath Temple opens at 6.00 AM in the morning and close at 8.00 PM in the evening. Daily Aarti performed at 7:00 AM in the morning.
