Operation Kaveri 2023: With the efforts of the Indian Air Force, 392 Indians have been evacuated from Sudan so far. Shortly before this, 278 Indian citizens were evacuated from Sudan through the naval ship INS Sumedha in the government of India’s Operation Kaveri.
As per the news received and official data of Operation Kaveri, India has evacuated at least 670 civilians from Sudan under its Operation Kaveri and out of which the first batch of 360 Indians reached Delhi. Operation Kaveri is being carried out during the ongoing ceasefire between Sudan’s army and paramilitary forces and this conflict has been going on for the past few days.
A total of 670 Indians have been evacuated from the violence-hit African country so far.

Earlier, 278 civilians were evacuated from this violence-hit African country through naval ship INS Sumedha. According to official figures, the number of Indian nationals evacuated from Sudan so far has gone up to 670.
Operation Kaveri: Foreign Minister posted on Indians returning home
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar tweeted and shared pictures of Indians landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport and wrote, “India welcomes its own. The first flight under Operation Kaveri reaches New Delhi and 360 Indian nationals disembark.”
Another IAF C-130J flight under #OperationKaveri arrived at Jeddah with 128 Indians, the fourth aircraft from Sudan.

So far more than 400 people have died in the ongoing violence between the army and paramilitary forces in Sudan and it is not known how long this conflict will last.
Significantly, in Sudan, there is a fierce struggle between the army and the paramilitary group to gain power. More than 400 people have lost their lives in the fierce fighting going on for the last 12 days.
