Umesh Pal Murder Case: “Law and Order” has been the USP of the Bhartiya Janata Party and leaders like Yogi Adityanath. However, a single case is enough to shake the people of the state to the core who have experienced “Goonda Raj” in their lives. But the same cannot be said for Uttar Pradesh.

Arbaaz was referred to as a slain criminal by the law enforcement agencies, and he carried a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on his head. Arbaaz was also rumoured to be a close associate of mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed.
Commissioner of Police (Prayagraj) Ramit Sharma said, “A joint team of the Special Operations Group (SOG) along with Dhoomanganj and Shankargarh police forces received inputs about the movement of a wanted criminal. On seeing Arbaaz, the police team told him to stop. However, he immediately opened fire at the police team.”
The police said that Arbaaz was the one who was driving the Hyundai Creta car that was involved in the murder of Umesh Pal. Arbaaz was also one of the two accused who managed to flee the scene without getting nabbed by the police.
Yogi Adityanath delivered what he pledged
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath’s commitment to law-and-order status in the state is not a subject of debate. Such has been the ferocious enforcement since Yogi Adityanath took over the reins in 2017, that erstwhile gangsters and criminals have started willingly surrendering before the UP Police. The ones who refused were made to course-correct.

The free hand given by the government allowed the law enforcement agencies to clean up the mess left over by the subsequent SP and BSP rules. However, the past week has been tough for Uttar Pradesh as “goonda-raj” seemed to return with the brutal murder of Umesh Pal, the prime witness in the murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal. For the same reason, CM Adityanath had vowed to decimate the mafias. It can be said that he has delivered what he pledged.
