World Happiness Index 2023: India’s Low Happiness Index Rank pulls Harsh Goenka into ‘Dispression’

In a recent report, Finland topped the chart.

Global Happiness Index 2023

Global Happiness Index 2023: Happiness is the end for which all means are pursued. Although happiness is a very vague concept, it is based on different conceptions for different individuals. Yet, there are some parameters that are necessary for a person’s survival, like a favorable environment, trust, generosity, health, and social support, among others. The United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network published a report on happiness called the World Happiness Index Report. And now Chairperson of the RPG Group, Harsh Goenka, has taken up a flute and started to cry.

Global Happiness Index 2023 and Harsh Goenka

In a recent Global Happiness Index 2023report, Finland topped the chart. The report places India at 126th place. The interesting part is that India is ranked much lower than Russia and Ukraine, the countries that have been engaged in war for more than a year.

Even countries like China, which oppress the people, and Sri Lanka, which is facing its worst economic crisis, are also ranked above India. Considering all that, the credibility of such a report comes into question. Nevertheless, most of the Indians do not consider the report to be justified, and hence the report goes unnoticed.

But Harsh Goenka, the chairman of RPG Group, seems to be saddened. He tweeted, “I am saddened to see India perform miserably in what I believe is the most important parameter to reflect the state of the nation, the “Global Happiness Index 2023′. What is the reason, and what should we do about it?”

Someone should remind Harsh Goenka that India does not consider the Global Happiness Index 2023 to be credible. Is Harsh Goenka too naive to understand it? Actually, he does not want to lose any opportunity to criticize the government of India. So, whenever anything comes against India, he and people like him start to cry for change.

The report is biased and flawed

The Global Happiness Index 2023 has always been criticized for various reasons, like:

So, there is nothing serious about India’s ranking in the World Happiness Ranking, and Harsh Goenka needs to understand it before everyone starts to ignore him. However, there is always scope for increasing the happiness of the people, and so the government needs to focus on its policies to be more oriented towards human development.
