Garjiya Devi Mandir Uttarakhand – Guide
Girija Devi Temple is a very famous temple of Uttarakhand. This is a holy place, this temple is called Garjiya Mandir in the local language. Garjiya Devi Mandir is located at Gadia at a distance of 12 km from Ramnagar on Dikla Road. It is a holy Shakti temple where Girija Devi is the Mukh Devi. Garjiya Devi Mandir is built on a rock in the middle of Kosi river and is Kartik Purnima, the fifteenth lunar day. It is also known as the festival of lights of the deities.
History of this Temple
Goddess Girija is the daughter of Himalaya and wife of Lord Shiva. Garjiya Devi Mandir was known to very few people till 1940, but in recent years the number of devotees has increased to lakhs. The modern temple was rebuilt in 1970. It is believed that the temple came up on its own along with the rock during the flood of Kosi river.
There is a 4.5 ft. high statue of Girija Devi along with idols of Goddess Saraswati, Lord Ganesha and Batuk Bhairav. There is also a temple of Lakshmi-Narayan in Purvamansa. The idols of this temple were found here during the excavation. It is believed that the prayer here is not complete until the worship of Girija Devi is followed by the worship of Bhairav.

Garjiya Devi Mandir opens at 6:00 AM in the morning and close at 7:00 PM in the evening.

Corbett Falls

Corbett Museum is one of the famous places near Ramnagar because over there you will get to know all the unknown facts about the famous Jim Corbett National Park. Even the structure where the museum is located is unique as it was the former residence of Jim Corbett himself.

Hanuman Dham is located very close to Ramnagar and is an architectural masterpiece. As the temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, it is of great importance to the people of the Hindu community in India.
