Jalandhar Devi Talab Mandir – Guide

Tripuramalini Shakti Peeth is also known as Devi Talab Mandir which is located in Jalandhar, Punjab. It is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. It is also known as Devi Talab Temple as this temple is situated in the middle of a holy pond. And it is believed to be more than 200 years old. Mata Sati’s chest had fallen here in Tripuramalini. That’s why it is also known as breastbone.

History of this Temple

Jalandhar Devi Talab Mandir or Tripuramalini Shakti Peetha is built at the place where Mata Sati’s chest fell, hence it is also known as Shantpeeth. Additionally, it is said that the idol also holds the power of Mata Vaishno Devi, Maa Lakshmi and Maa Saraswati, all of whom fulfill all the wishes of the devotees. Like other Shaktipeeths, here too a lamp is always burning. Tripuramalini Shaktipeeth is visited by a large number of devotees on Sundays and Tuesdays. Here the goddess is in the form of Shakti. Apart from the Mandir, there is also a temple dedicated to Goddess Kali.

Jalandhar Devi Talab Mandir Timings

Jalandhar Devi Talab Mandir is open from 7:00 AM in the morning to 7:00 PM in the evening. Morning aarti is performed at 8:00 AM in the morning and evening aarti is performed at 6:00 PM in the evening.

Jahaj Wala Talhan Sahib Gurudwara

This Gurudwara is about 150 years old. This Gurudwara is dedicated to Shaheed Baba Nihal Singh. It is also known as the Ship Gurudwara. This Gurudwara is located at a distance of about few kms away from this temple.

Nurmahal Sarai

From here you leave and walk on Nurmahal road and see the famous Sarai of Nurmahal located 25 km away. It was built in the 17^th century on the orders of Nur Jahan.

This fort is known by two names. Phillaur Fort and Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s Fort. It is located on GT Road in Phillaur.
