Mathura Dauji Mandir – Guide

The Dauji Mandir is related to Balram, who was the elder brother of Lord Krishna. In Mathura, it is considered to be the oldest temple of ‘Vallabh Sampradaya’. This temple is situated on the banks of river Yamuna is and also known as ‘Gopal Lalji’s temple’. This famous temple is situated at the eastern end of Brajmandal in Mathura district. It is situated in the middle of the Etah-Mathura road which is at a distance of 21 km from Mathura.

History of this Temple

History of Mathura Dauji Mandir belongs to very ancient times. This temple was built by seth shyam Das in 1580 AD. About 500 years old, this temple was donated by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb 5 villages. It is believed that the land of 580 acres was written in the name of Dauji Maharaj. The most special thing is that Aurangzeb had also built the Shahi Nakarkhana here, on which it is written, “This Shahi Nakarkhana was built by the Mughal emperor Alamgir Aurangzeb in 1729 AD, which is year 1672.

Mathura Dauji Mandir Timings

Mathura Dauji Mandir opens from 6:00 AM to 12 Noon in the morning and from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM in the evening. Morning aarti is performed at 6:30 AM in the morning and evening aarti is performed at 8:00 PM in the evening.

Dedicated to Lord Krishna, the temple is a must visit for its beauty and architecture. Built in 1814, the temple is relatively new but highly revered.
