Malikappuram movie review: Sanatan dharma is full of divine traditions that are celebrated throughout the nation in different forms under different names. Several movies from the Southern entertainment industry, in the recent past, have taken it on their shoulder to popularise their rich and blessed native culture and traditions to the larger national and international audience.
Kantara for that matter gracefully pulled the divinity of Bhoota Kola and other traditions of Dakshina Kannada. Similarly, the recent Malayalam release, Malikappuram, is another extension of this continuing trend that is showcasing the exemplified beauty of Sanatan Dharm. However, this divine tale too has faced sinister designs of the leftist coterie that have trampled this divine calling in the cacophony of crass movies like ‘Pathaan’.

Made with a meagre budget of Rs 3.5 crores, the film showcasing the divinity of Sanatani traditions practised in Kerala has received tremendous success in striking a chord among the audiences. “Malikappuram” is a captivating and cultural experience that immerses the viewers in the rich cultural traditions of Kerala, particularly those related to the revered deity Swami Ayyappa and his holy abode Sabarimala.
The plot revolves around the story of Kalyani aka Kallu. She is an innocent 8-year-old girl who has been raised hearing the divine tales of Swami Ayyappan from her grandmother.
Driven by the complete devotion to the deity, she has been longing to meet Swami Ayyappan and woos her father to take her to the sacred divine shrine of Sabarimala.
Accompanied by her playful friend Piyush Unni, she embarks on an eventful journey to the sacred pilgrimage site. During they journey towards their destination, Kalyani encounters a series of obstacles that test her faith and devotion. Will Kalyani’s unwavering faith be rewarded with the sight of her beloved Bhagwan?
It is an emotional and spiritual journey that touches the heart and soul with its immersive storytelling, stunning visuals and powerful performances.
Along with ‘Meppadiyan’ and ‘Shafeekinte Santosham’, ‘Malikappuram’ is third back-to-back hit film of Malayalam actor, Unni Mukundan who is himself a devout Hindu and Ayyappan devotee, for which he has been on the target list of his haters.
In Kerala, Proud Hindu actor UnniMukundan’s latest movie is being severely criticised by the Abrahamic/Commie lot for being communal…

Why are such movies a must-watch?
Malikappuram is remarkably a captivating and deeply spiritual film that captures the essence of the highly revered deity, Swami Ayyappan and his abode Sabarimala.
Every scene of the film is elevated to a captivating experience by the beautiful and unique style of background music. The music beautifully captures the mood of each scene, be it a devotional padayatra or a fight scene, or even a tense scene where the good and bad guys interact in a cold environment.
The child actors, Deva Nandha and Sreepath, pull the story elegantly and gracefully, and the hero’s crucial appearance is perfectly timed. Even the supporting players in the film, such as the worker at the shop, deliver delightful performances with their peculiar traits and love for chai. The movie beautifully delves into the chemistry between fathers and children, with the tea stall scene being a standout moment.

The film proudly showcases the Petta dance and the unwavering affection for their culture and traditions.
The scenes towards the film’s climax with Harivarasanam, the lullaby of Lord Ayyappa, are simply magical. Every actor delivers a splendid performance, gracefully pulling all the emotions, and the child actors steal the show. I love the way Piyoosh Swami does bragging, lying, trickery, child’s play and showing off in front of his crush, Thulasi PP and others. Additionally, the teachers and the vibe of the school are so refreshing without going over the top.
Go watch out and witness it as ” Malikappuram” is not just a movie, but a soulful journey that brings to life the concept of Tat Tvam Asi – the idea that God is within you. It is an ode to the highly revered deity Swami Ayyappan that will touch your heart and soul.
