Kalaram Mandir Nashik – Guide
Kalaram Mandir is located near Panchavati tourist place in Nashik district of Maharashtra state of India. The presiding deity of Kalaram Mandir is Lord Rama and this temple is an ancient temple belonging to Hinduism.
The idol of Lord Rama situated in the Kalaram Mandir is made of black stone, hence the name of the temple has been kept as Kala Rama Temple. Kalaram Temple is one of the most important religious places in the city of Nashik, which remains the centre of faith of the devotees.
History of this Temple
The history of Kalaram Mandir Nashik, shows that this temple was built in 1782 by Sardar Rangrao Odhekar of Peshwa. The temple was built in Nagara style. The Kalaram temple is believed to have been built at the site of Parnakuti, which was earlier the abode of Nathpanthi sadhus.
One day the sages found the idol of Lord Rama on the banks of Aruna Varuna river and they established the idol of Lord Rama by making a wooden temple. During the reign of Peshwas, the construction work of this temple was started as per the order of Mato Shri Gopikabai. It is believed that about 23 lakhs were spent in the construction of the Kalaram Mandir at that time.

Kalaram Mandir Timings
Kalaram Mandir opens at 5:30 AM in the morning and close at 10:00 PM in the evening. The aarti in the Kalaram temple takes place at 6 in the morning and at 8 in the night.

Anjaneri Hills
Anjaneri Hills derives its name from Goddess Anjana, as locals say that Goddess Anjana gave birth to Lord Hanuman in the cave atop the hill and is one of the holy places to visit in Nashik. Anjaneri hills are comparatively difficult to reach among Nashik tourist places. Travelers have to take a bus from Nashik to Trimbakeshwar and from there they have to climb 10 km, but the view at the end of the climb is worth it.
Gangapur Dam
Gangapur Dam is a must among all the places to visit in Nashik. About 10 km from the main city of Nashik is the Gangapur Dam, which is a highly attractive tourist destination. It is situated on the banks of the holy Godavari River. Built in the year 1954, it is built in a traditional style using stones, mud, clay and sand. The garden near the dam is an ideal picnic spot amidst the charismatic landscape.

By Road- Roads to this temple is well connected with the other cities of the country so you can easily reach this temple by using your own vehicle or by any public buses or taxi from any part of the country.
