Bijasan Mata Mandir Bundi – Guide
Bijasan Mata Mandir is a major religious place located in Indargarh, Bundi district of Rajasthan. According to history, this temple was built by Indrasal, the younger brother of Rao Shatrusal, the ruler of Bundi, in his own name. During this, he also built many grand forts, temples and palaces on the hill here. Bijasan Mata Mandir is situated on a huge hill in Indargarh, which has its own religious importance. Bijasan Mata Temple is situated on top of hill due to which devotees have to climb 700 to 800 steps to reach the temple.
History of this Temple
Bijasan Mata Mandir Bundi is considered a holy place as it was here that Goddess Durga appeared to devotee Kamalnath 2000 years ago. It is said that Kamal Nath was a great devotee of Goddess Durga. The goddess was pleased with their faith and devotion and appeared before them. This idol of the mother is seated on the demon Raktabeej. Many great deeds of Goddess Durga are told in the Markandeya Purana, which is now known as Sri Durga Saptashati.
