Currently, India is fighting terrorism on all fronts like never before. As a result of that, the graph of terrorist activities has gone all time low. But, pro-khalistani activities have soared recently. The frequency of Khalistani activities is becoming a matter of concern that needs an urgent attention of the government or else the things will go on to become worse.

On January 12, 2023, Khalistan supportive posters were stick to the walls in 12 areas of Delhi, including Janakpuri, Tilak nagar and Pashchim vihar. According to the reports, this was the part of bigger conspiracy which was instigated from foreign land. The sleeper cells of Khalistani network are intent to make a big terrorist move in India, although, 2 accused are already in the arrest of the Police.
There is no gap of decades where everything was quite normal. Although there were some Khalistani supporters but most of them were based abroad,trying to pierce into India. But, after the formation of Aam Aadmi Party’s government, things have dramatically changed. Punjab administrative machinery has failed to tackle the Khalistani activitiesand even trying in all indirect way possible to help them to entrench the ideology in a more aggresive way. The news of pro-Khalistani sloganeering and poster sticking is witnessed more often.
Punjab becoming the launchpad
After assembly elections, Bhagwant Mann became the CM and now there is Simranjit Singh Mann who has won the by-election. He has been a supporter of Khalistan movement.
Recently in December, Khalistani slogans were scribbled on the walls of government college in Mukhtasar, Punjab. The canadian based Khalistani organistaion Sikh For Justice(SFJ) took the responsibility of scribbled slogans. The slogans were sketched on the wall ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra which read-”Indira Thoki Si, Ta Rahul Rokenge”(Murdered Indira Gandhi and will stop Rahul Gandhi). Investigating the case Police said that the cross border activities have escalated from Pakistan.
Under 2-km radius of CM house in Punjab a live bomb was found on 2nd of January. A day after the incident, walls of the SSP office were painted with the slogans of “Khalistan Zindabad” in Shri Muktsar Sahib. SFJ taking the responsibility released a video which said “bomb found in the park near CM Bhagwant Mann’s Chandigarh residence could also have been found on the helipad.”
All this is happening under the nose of AAP governemnt and Bhagwant Mann is numb to take actions. No materialised actions have been visible so far from the apex body in the government. This has led to the encouragement of Khalistani terrorists as they have anticipated the capability of Punjab government. Bhagwant Mann needs to wake up from his sleep. Punjab is a border state that needs a firm security norms.
It looks like Punjab government has neglected the seriousness of the matter. As, almost 3,988 people were identified in 2021 as linked to radical activities out of which 220 received money from SFJ. But still no solid actions are visible.

Punjab and Delhi needs attention
The inefficiency of Punjab government have reduced the state as Khalistani launchpad. If the things go the very way, India will for sure face a more radical threat in upcoming days.
The recent slogan painting in Delhi supported khalistani movement and referendum 2020. This is the second time when things have come out from Punjab to Delhi. The last Khalistani activity was during the farmer’s protest when the Khalistani flag was hoisted near the Red Fort. This can’t be a co-incidence and the intelligence agency need to figure it out. As, Delhi is the national capital and the record of Khalistani activities raises many concerns. The important thing to notice is that they are mostly active during the Republic Day and Independence Day.
Back on 15th of August 2022, Khalsitan terrorist planned to replace Indian Tricolour flag with khalistani flag at Attari border. And for this year Republic Day, SFJ terrorist Gurupatwant Singh Pannu posted a video claiming to “liberate Punjab from Indian occupation in 2023”. He also 5,00,000 dollars to anyone who hoists Khalistani flag at Red Fort.
The Union Home Ministry and Delhi Police are also liable for thwarting the activities. India as a nation can not get depended on Punjab government. If the security concerns look serious, which they are, it should be taken care of.
