Naatu Naatu Golden Globe: The perception about India in the West has changed over time. Initially, Indians were viewed as snake charmers, but modern-day films became instrumental in helping to shape a new narrative. Earlier most of these movies mostly focus on dance, music and story, with a typical structure of seven to eight songs, a somewhat average plot and a few fight scenes towards the end, with an item number before the halfway mark. However, after the Covid-19 pandemic, audiences have become more discerning and are less likely to go to the movies, leading to a decline in the popularity of films.
After the Covid-19 pandemic, the Hindi-speaking region of India’s film industry began to show an increased interest in other regional language films such as Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. The southern film industry of India slowly started to gain recognition across the country. With hard work and clever marketing, directors of these films were able to take them to a global audience.
S.S.Rajamouli was one of them, who did not stop to achieve his goal. Rajamouli possesses a remarkable ability to promote his projects effectively, ensuring they are seen by a wide audience and achieve great success. His commitment to excellence in both production value and marketing demonstrates his dedication to creating exceptional works of art.
Grand welcome with silver carpet

The Naatu Naatu song won the Golden Globe Award with MM Keeravani going on stage to accept it.

The song “Naatu Naatu” was pitted against several other songs like Taylor Swift’s “Carolina” from Where the Crawdads Sing, “Ciao Papa” from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick and “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, performed by Rihanna. With its striking choreography and powerful musical narrative, “Naatu Naatu” portrays the central characters challenging British oppressors.
The 80th Golden Globes Awards ceremony was hosted by comedian-actor Jerrod Carmichael and marked a significant change in an effort to make the organisation more inclusive. As the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) implemented some changes in response to the 2020 scandal wherein celebrities had decried the organisation for being too white and sexist. Also, this year the Golden Globes replaced the traditional red carpet with a silver one.
