Guruvayur Temple, Thrissur – Overview
Guruvayur Temple is located in the Thrissur district of Kerala in south India. This temple is very popular and holy place because this is the temple of Lord Shri Krishna. God guruvayurappan resides in the Guruvayur Temple. The Guruvayur temple is also known as the Dwarka of the South. It is 5000 years old and was founded by Vishwakarma.
History of this Temple
Kerala Guruvayur temple is an ancient temple, this temple has been inspiring everyone for many centuries. This temple is the best and most important temple in Kerala and it is of lord Guruvayurapan, which is one who is the child form of Lord Sri Krishna. The statue installed in the temple is a unique example of sculpture. And everyone also believes that Lord Vishnu had given this idol to Brahmaji.
The idol of Lord Sri Krishna is installed in the Guruvayurappan temple, and this idol has many specialties. There is a four handed idol of lord shri krishna and in that lord shri krishna is holding conch shell in one hand, sudarshan chakra in second hand and beautiful lotus flower in third hand and best of all holding mace in fourth hand Is.
That idol is worshiped in the child form of Lord Krishna. The Guruvayurappan temple itself has beautiful paintings depicting the childhood past times of Lord Sri Krishna. Guruvayur Temple is also known Vaikuntha Lok on earth.
Best time to visit this temple
The best time to visit Guruvayur Temple or go for sightseeing is from October to May only. But the peak season is from November to January and from March to May. It may take around 2 days to visit the complete temple.

Vadakkunnathan Temple
The Vadakkunnathan temple is one of the largest and ancient Lord Shiva temples in Kerala. And this temple is about 1 km from Thrissur Railway Station, where the world famous Thrissur Pooram festival is celebrated every year from April to May. This temple of Lord Shiva is the oldest among all the temples in South India. This temple was established by Parashurama. The Vadakkunnathan temple is an example of the Kerala style of architecture.
Athirpally Waterfall
Athirpalli Waterfall is about 59 km from Thrissur district of Kerala and it is one of the best waterfall in India as well as one of the places to visit in Kerala. It is one of the most popular weekend getaways from Coimbatore and Munnar along with Kochi. This very beautiful waterfall is near the Chalakudy river at the gate of Sholayar hill Shrunkhaja in Thrissur district.

Thiruvambadi Krishna Temple
Thiruvambadi Krishna Temple is located at a distance of about 2 km from Thrissur Railway Station and this temple is also considered to be one of the best temples in Kerala. Tiruvambadi Krishna Temple is very attractive. Thiruvambadi Krishna Temple is one of the two groups participating in Thrissur Pooram. This Thiruvambadi Krishna temple worships Lord Sri Krishna along with Vishnumaya Devi. And the temple was built in the 16th century after the original temple was established. Was done.

There are many buses runs from Thrissur to Bangalore, Kochi, Coimbatore, Trivandrum, Kozhikode, Mysore and Palani. You can easily reach this temple from any part of the country by road.
