India US Joint military exercise: The international bully, that is, China, has become the global menace to the rules-based international order. In the madness to reclaim the tag of being the middle kingdom of the world, the expansionist hegemon has been usurping the territory of smaller nations at will.
But, as they say, the best way to make a bully shudder is to stand eye to eye with them. Apparently, the recent developments by India near the border areas have sent chills down the spine of the dragon, and it is now breathing icy cold air.
Tamed Wolf warriors whisper sounds of objection
Currently, the armed forces of India and the United States are conducting a joint military exercise, “Yudh Abhyas,” in Uttarakhand. After 2004, the joint military exercise is conducted every year. The aim of the joint military exercise is to exchange best practices, tactics, techniques, and procedures between the militaries of the two nations. This year, the 18th edition of the exercise is taking place in Auli, Uttarakhand, which is approximately 100 kilometres away from the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

After the announcement, it was a foregone conclusion that the Communist regime in China would feel the pinch of this joint military exercise. Apparently, the notorious Zhao Lijian, a Chinese wolf warrior, opposed the Yudh Abhyas, which was taking place only 100 kilometres from the LAC.
In a media briefing, he stated that the joint military exercise near the LAC violates the spirit of the agreement between China and India in 1993 and 1996. He also added that the joint military exercise was an effort by a “third party” to meddle-in, India-China border affairs.
Responding to a Pakistani correspondent, Zhao Lijian added that the joint military exercise does not serve the mutual trust between China and India.
These statements are a bit too rich coming from a rogue nation like China, which is notorious for violating agreements left, right, and center. Apparently, these are the same agreements that the Chinese PLA violated on the fateful day of May 5, 2020.
China wrongfully misdirects its apprehensions towards the US
After the Galwan misadventure, the Chinese Communist Party has realised that it can’t kowtow to India as per its wishes. Now, it seems that after trying its every rhetorical bullying tactic against India, China has started to issue warnings to the Democrat-led US administration. Reportedly, the Pentagon submitted a panel report to the US Congress. In the report, the Pentagon revealed that the Chinese officials warned U.S. officials not to interfere with China’s relationship with India.
However, the Chinese should recognise that they are misdirecting their angst. It was their own Galwan misadventure that changed the tide of the India-China relationship. Further, with the Joint military drill, it is not the US that is helping India develop the capabilities of mountain warfare, but rather the other way around. It is the US soldiers that have come to learn the art of mountain warfare from the very best in the world.

We are not exaggerating; the US may have many things to offer in other theaters, but when it comes to mountain warfare, the Indian Army is the best armed force in the world. China should brush up its memories, as India has shown many times its prowess in mountain warfare. The latest being the conquering of the peaks of Kailash range in the South of the Pangong Tso.
India reinforces its border defence near LAC
India has been taking holistic steps that are directly aimed at China, like the rapid development of border infrastructure like the Darbuk-Shyok-Daulat Beg Oldie (DSDBO) Road, which was the main thorn in the eyes of the Communist nation. Additionally, India has deployed advanced weapon systems, be it the S-400 Triumph or the 4.5-generation fighter aircraft Rafale.
Furthermore, during the joint military exercises, the Indian Army demonstrated new capabilities to combat the rising threat of enemy drones. In the Yudd Abhyas, it showcased a kite bird with the code name “Arjun.” These kite birds are trained to hunt and kill enemy drones.
The latest howling by the wolf warriors of China demonstrates that it is badly rattled by India’s move near the LAC. It has realised that it committed its worst mistake and misread the capabilities of the new India. It mistakenly believed that India is the same politically meek nation as it was in 1962.
It continued to believe that India would not stand up to its bullying tactics of salami slicing. But it got the fruit of its misjudgment. Both in Dokhlam and in Galwan when it broke the border protocols and paid a heavy price for it.
