Dear Nadav Lapid,
I hope you are living a peaceful life in Israel. A few days ago, you had visited our nation. Our government had invited you to the International Film Festival of India. In that grand event organized in Goa, you made unsolicited remarks about the film ‘The Kashmir Files’, a movie that is based upon the massacre of Kashmiri Pandits. I have an objection over your remark. A very strong objection.
You may have lived comfortably in Israel, but have you ever thought about those who spend their entire lives as expatriates in their own country? Whose future generations too are forced to live a life of a migrant. It’s not that they don’t have a home or that they don’t have lands and neighbourhoods. They had everything, but were mercilessly chased away. Kashmiri Pandits were beaten and thrown out of their homes. So, I strongly object the disgusting remarks you made regarding the film.
Nadav Lapid, you said that the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ is vulgar and propaganda driven. Really Nadav? You are a Jew and must be familiar with the horrors of massacre. You might know what the pain of being chased away from your homes is. I don’t think you do. Because, had you known, you would never have made fun of those afflicted Pandits.
Alao read: The master liar Sharad Pawar is back, and this time his target is The Kashmir Files
Perhaps, you have also forgotten the atrocities committed upon your community which even history is afraid to record. Perhaps you have forgotten the genocide that began in 1941 and ended in 1945, where more than 60 lakh people of your community were killed. I don’t want to name the gas chambers or the Holocaust, but you seem to have forgotten the ‘Ghetto’ as well. I am sure that you have forgotten all those horrors. Otherwise, you would never have given such an abhorrent statement.
Apart from reminding you about your own history, there is nothing more I can say. You even abuse your own nation, Israel, what else can we expect from you. We can understand your cynicism and should have understood that rather than judging as an expert, you will only vent your personal frustration and biases against upright nations like India and Israel.
But what can we do, we have such a generous government that lays red carpet for people like you and provides you with the necessary platform so that you can rub salt on our wounds, mock and ridicule our pain and label the truth about our torture as vulgar. So, we don’t have many complaints about you because you were doing what you have always done to gain your little-known notoriety.
We have complaints against our government that gave you a platform. Our ministers in Goa were extremely elated meeting stars all around. But they did not make sure who to invite at the event. If they had, you would not have had the opportunity to swagger in, spew such obscenities and go away on your merry way.
Nadav, I don’t have much problem with you but rather with those traitors of our country, who eagerly wait for such opportunities. As per a toolkit, they shared the video of your statement. Swara Bhaskar is just a single name. The entire leftist ecosystem is currently rejoicing the sheer mockery of the pain of millions of Kashmiri Pandits who were tortured, whose sisters and daughters were killed, whose houses were set on fire, who have become living corpses.
The support for your obscene statement did not stop there. Even Congress, the grand old party, is shamelessly making fun of the atrocities on Kashmiri Pandits with the help of your statement.
Nadav, you know, even though the left lobby has supported you and Kashmiri Pandits have been made fun of due to your statement, Israel has officially apologized for it. Israel’s Ambassador to India has also written a letter to you and you must read it Nadav Lapid. Because, then and only then will you understand the enormity of the sin you have committed?
Mr Nadav Lapid, India-Israel ties are much deeper and stronger than Islamist apologists like you think it to be. It will not be impacted by your vile commentary; it only vindicates the fact that nations should not be careless in inviting foreign dignitaries. They should conduct a thorough back ground check so that a person like you, who has been openly speaking ill against everything that countries like India and Israel stand for, should not get even a slight chance to make disparaging comments about the red lines of either the host or the visiting nation.
Mr Nadav Lapid, reality is many times scarier than fiction and its not the film that is vulgar. Rather, the reality of those horrific times is so torturous and vulgar that no film, book, words can comprehend it. These vulgar scourges need a human heart and empathy to understand that its important to speak the truth how ugly and vulgar it may be. Its not the film or Israel that stinks, it is your inherent biases that reeks of propaganda and stinks.
