Piyush Goyal whacks Rajdeep and Rahul black and blue, for obvious reasons

Recently, Piyush Goyal was at the India Today Conclave in Mumbai.

“There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen.” Such has been the journey of Piyush Goyal, the politician. He is known as someone who keeps his head down and rarely engages in rhetoric. Sometimes he does so, and that is never good news for people like Rahul Kanwal and Rajdeep Sardesai.

Piyush Goyal takes media to the cleaners

Recently, Piyush Goyal was at the India Today Conclave in Mumbai. It can be asserted that he was in a zone. The zone of meeting: fire with fire. When quizzed about the mudslinging by other parties, he explicitly said that their words have no value whatsoever in real terms.

However, the commerce minister did not blame the media for reporting it. Instead, he felt their pain by saying that a lack of controversy is bad for TRPs.

Rahul Kanwal also agreed with it by drawing a dead rubber match correlation from cricket. In a way, he accepted that it is the media that does not support the people’s mandate by pushing up those whom the public has thrown down the pit. At this point, Salil Kumar, another panelist, jumped in, claiming that they only report facts.

The commerce minister thanked India Today for it but was quick to point out others on the channel who are busy building an anti-BJP narrative. If there was any doubt about the name of the person, Piyush Goyal cleared it by referring to his presence at Madison Square Garden.

In 2014, Rajdeep Sardesai was there to gain some brownie points against PM Modi. Instead, he was thrashed black and blue by people present there.

Continuous attempt to malign PM Modi cabinet

Piyush Goyal said what everyone in India feels deep down in their bones. Ever Since PM Modi took oath as Pradhan Sevak, it has become clear to the intellectual class that a hardworking PM has finally arrived. Sensing fear, they launched an intolerance drive.

They tried to insinuate to the world that India was illiberal towards minorities. The agenda was clear; it was to stop the flow of investment, which was just catching momentum after years of policy paralysis.

Award Waapsi Gang failed as the Internet had made people aware of the fallacies of watching and reading propaganda news. Big investors did their own SWOT analysis and put money into India’s growth story. Big infrastructure projects got kicked off, the NPA crisis started to subside, and projects started to get approved at faster rates. Even stern rating agencies all around the world changed their stances on India.

BJP made it boring to follow politics

Meanwhile, as the animal spirit of Make-in-India started to roar, the opposition and left-liberals started to feel the punch. BJP started to win state after state. The most significant of these victories have been in Uttar Pradesh and Northeast India. Not even in their wildest dreams did the left-liberal lobby think that a party that they have maligned as communal would gain victory in non-Hindu majority states.

But it happened and created problems for the media and opposition. The political spectrum got boring due to BJP victories stamped all over it. This is where the opposition’s anxieties came in handy for news portals.

Opposition leaders started personal attacks on PM Modi and other big heads of the BJP. Their humble background is a source of ridicule for the opposition. Devoid of any credibility on the editorial board, the media also covered them.

In a way, it is sad. There is so much happening on the policy front. Transformation in agriculture, manufacturing, and services, the launch of the National Logistics Policy, and much more news are there. Unfortunately, they think only political controversy will get them numbers.
