A secular state and its anti-Hindu Policy. That’s what the Indian Secular Democratic Republic has become. The contrasting Indian state has acquired and controlled every religious institution of Hindus and deprived them of their religious rights. On the other hand, the same state has given special powers to minority religious institutions to advance its ideas. The secular state, which pledged to promote equal positive secularism, has launched unending strikes on Hindus by giving minorities special powers. The state of affairs has become such that the government has taken control of every Hindu institution there. Even their minority religious institutions are claiming Hindu properties.
Wakf Board Captured an Entire Village
In a series of such claims, the Wakf board seems to have acquired an entire village in Tamil Nadu. According to a report published in Dinamalar, a regional news portal, when Rajagopal from Mullikarupur village in Trichy district (Tamil Nadu) went to get the sale of his land registered, the registrar informed him that he could not sell the land as it belonged to the Wakf Board.
According to the reports, Rajagopal owns agricultural land in the nearby village Thirucehnthuvrai of Andanallur union. For some needs, he made an agreement to sell 1 acre and 2 cents of land to Rajarajeshwari. On 5th of September, he went to the Registrar (Trichy) to obtain the purchase deed for Rs 3.5 lakhs and get it registered. But, when he inquired about the property, the registrar told him that the land for which you have come belonged to the Wakf Board.
Registrar Murali said, “you should obtain a No-Obligation Certificate (NOC) from the Wakf Board in Chennai.” Shockingly Rajagopal replied, “why do I need to obtain NOC from the Wakf Board to sell my land purchased in 1992?”
Replying to him the registrar said, “Any land in Tiruchenthurai village needs to be deeded, this is the procedure.”
Showing a copy of the 250-page Wakf Board letter to Rajagopal, he said, “The Wakf Board has sent a letter to the Deeds Department along with documents that the entire village belongs to them. It has been said that those who come to register a deed for the land in the village, should get a certificate of no objection from them.”

The letter clearly reflects that tens of thousands of acres of land, all over Tamil Nadu, belong to the Wakf Board.
1,500 years old Temple Also Belongs to Wakf?
Saddened by the news, Rajagopal explained the situation to the whole village. Everyone was shocked that the land on which he had been living for many centuries was no longer theirs. It is nothing but cheating that despite having all the documents of both agricultural as well as residential lands the entire village has become a Wakf property. Troubled by the position, the villagers went to the local district collector and they were assured of investigation.
Commenting on the issue, Allur Prakash, BJP leader from Trichy district has said, “Tiruchendurai village, near Trichy, is an agricultural area for Hindus. What is the relation of Wakf Board to Tiruchenthurai village?”
He further said that Manadiyavalli Sametha Chandrasekhar Swamy Temple is present in this village. According to many documents and pieces of evidence, this temple is 1,500 years old. The temple has a property of 369 acres in and around Tiruchenthurai village. Is this temple property also owned by the Wakf Board? What is its basis? How can the Wakf Board declare that this land belongs to him without any basic proof? Whereas, the people of the village have the necessary documents of the land.
In this whole incident, prima facie, the Wakf Board seems to be arbitrary. However, now it has to be seen what action the MK Stalin government of the state takes in this matter.
Wakf Board: A National Land Mafia
Wakf is a completely religious institution that is acting as a land mafia under the guise of religion. According to the Sachar Committee report 2006, there was nearly 5 lakh registered Wakfs with 6 lakh acres of land in India. The total book value of the land at the time of the report was Rs 6,000 crores.
At the time of the Wakf Act 1984, Rajiv Gandhi gave it many privileges,\. But in 1995, when the new Wakf Act 1995 was brought up, it was also given administrative and judicial rights. And then in the year 2013, Manmohan Singh made some amendments to it, and the Wakf Board reached the peak of its power.
- Sec 28 & sec 29 compel the State Machinery and the DM to follow the orders of the Wakf Board. Basically, the Wakf board acts as a state inside the state
- Under Section 36 & Section 40 of the Wakf Act, 1995, Wakf Board can declare any property, whether private, society or any trust, as its property.
- Section 40(1) states that if the property of an individual is declared as Wakf property, then that individual does not even have a right to get a copy of that order, Moreover, if he does not appeal against him within 3 years, then that order will be final.
- Sections 85 and 89 make it mandatory for a victim to ask Wakf Tribunal for remedy. If an individual wants to file a case in Civil Court, then Wakf Board has to be informed 2 months before the filing of a formal appeal.
- Section 101 declares Wakf Board members as public servants. There is no such privilege accorded to people working for any other religious institution.

Hindus’ Property Looted by State and Wakf
In many other states like West Bengal, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh, the Wakf board has properties worth thousands of crore rupees under its control. In Karnataka, the Shia Wakf Board properties are valued at around Rs. 688 crores, while those of the Sunni Wakf Board are estimated to be a whopping Rs. 99,311 crores.
On the other hand, Hindu religious institutions are completely in control of the state. In Tamil Nadu, Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department (HR&CE) has been created to control temples in the state. According to the department, around 45,178 temples are controlled by the states. Moreover, 4,78,283.53 acres of land, 22,600 buildings, and 33,665 sites owned by temples are under the control of the state. In a single state, about 45 thousand temples are under the government’s control and the calculations of property owned by the temples can be imagined only. All these go to the state and its ‘secular’ subjects.
The Sovereign Socialist Secular Republic of India has become completely apathetic towards Hindus. It has mortgaged its sovereignty and secularism to religious minorities. Socialism to Communists. The Hindus of the nation are carrying the republic state on its shoulder. It is nothing but deplorable that an entire Hindu property was made into a Wakf property by a simple letter. A centuries old Hindu temples overnight became a common Muslim property.
