No cellphone, no X Ray : After destroying Delhi and Punjab government hospitals, now AAP targets Gujarat
Share on FacebookShare on X

“Who is Arvind Kejriwal? What is the Aam Aadmi Party? Can you call it a party that can be compared to the Congress or the Bhartiya Janata Party? The AAP is generally talked about because the gentleman and the party have a way of projecting themselves.” This is what the then CM of Delhi, Sheila Dixit has said while dismissing Kejriwal during 2013 Delhi Assembly elections.

Although Sheila Dixit lost the New Delhi constituency to Arvind Kejriwal, she recognised the factor on which the concept of Aam Aadmi Party and political dreams of Kejriwal rested. The party is being talked about because they have a way of projecting themselves. The one man party has lured the people of Delhi and Punjab with the same ‘projection’ and now they are all set to destroy Gujarat, however, them being elected to power is of negligible chance. Why are we saying this, you’ll be well versed as we decode the most hailed ‘Health Model’ of Kejriwal.

Punjab Govt Hospital’s new policy: No cellphone, No XRay

In the AAP ruled Punjab, a government hospital has implied a bizarre rule in which the ones who don’t possess a good camera smartphone, will not be able to access the x ray facility there. At the Government Mata Kaushalya Hospital, which happens to be a district level facility of Patiala, the patients are directed to take pictures of their X-Ray scans on their phone for medical examination by their doctor.

As per a report by The Tribune, whenever the district hospital runs out of X-ray films, employees make a bizarre announcement: “Only those who have smartphones should come for X-ray.” Thus a majority of the patients are deprived of the right to basic healthcare, X-ray, a commonly used non-abrasive imaging test that helps in timely diagnosis of multiple ailments.

Dr Sandeep Kaur, Medical Superintendent, of Government Mata Kaushalya Hospital, said to The Tribune: “This saves money. However, if someone does not have smartphone, the staff of our X-ray department directly sends the shots to the doctor concerned.”

A senior doctor at the hospital examining the report on phone called the situation unfortunate claiming that, “X-ray is not clearly visible on smartphones and we often face difficulty in diagnosing the patients.”

Unveiling the much hyped Kejriwal’s ‘HEALTH MODEL’

To surprise many, the unfortunate case has been reported from government district hospital of Patiala, which happens to be the hometown of Punjab Health Minister Chetan Singh Jouamajra. And to add on, he had paid an official visit to the same hospital just two days before the story came to light. Token system was started in the same hospital so that patients don’t have to stand in queues and can easily get their prescriptions.

https://twitter.com/PunjabGovtIndia/status/1572968397578833921

Well, this is once again the example of the factor that Sheila Dixit had recognised- IMAGE POLITICS. Establishing high tech machinery is often used as a cover-up for other shortcomings, which is clearly visible in the case.

To add further, if this is the condition of a district level hospital that is in the hometown of the health minister himself, how appalling would be the condition of the health infrastructure and management in other districts. The conditions of remote villages are even hard to imagine.

While, Bhagwant Mann just like Kejriwal promised more than he could deliver, his health model based on the Delhi one is surely a failure.

Kejriwal’s models are nothing but a failure

What Kejriwal has done to Delhi and how drastically the Kejriwal government has changed the governance module was the talk of the town as AAP kept expanding its footprints. The most popular sector or to say appropriately the ones in which most money has been plunged are Health and Education.

For the last 7-8 years, Kejriwal and his aides have kept doing lofty promises regarding construction of new schools and hospitals, the idea that was presented as the one for the poor and the needy.

Also Read-Delhi’s education model: Private schools too expensive, government schools too shabby

But, on contrary to the popular ads which popularised Kejriwal’s announcement of 7 new hospitals within 6 months from October 2021, an RTI reply revealed that zero hospitals were constructed by the government during that period. And the list does not end here. The Kejriwal government has procured a total of 10 Advanced Life Support Ambulances which have oxygen, ICUs and ECG facilities to treat patients within the ambulance from 2014 to April 2022. However, during the same period the government has sold a total of 20 advanced life support ambulances for scrap, more than they procured.

The Kejriwal government has done nothing concrete to improve the health infrastructure and facilities in Delhi, but it has taken necessary steps following his priority like not allowing the implementation of the central government’s Ayushmann Bharat scheme, thus depriving the poor from free treatment.

While Bhagwant Mann may have announced Delhi like mohalla clinics in the state, the truth is something else. The mohalla clinics have come under scrutiny when the cough syrup prescribed to 3 children suffering from cough led to death, due to the adverse reaction of a drug that should not have been prescribed to these children. Also, the mohalla clinics did precious little during the Covid crisis and the videos circulating testified that the mohalla clinics were unable to provide even basic level of healthcare to residents of Delhi.

All that Arvind Kejriwal knows is the ‘Revdi Politics’- The politics of freebies, where he offers freebies in exchange of votes ultimately causing huge losses to the exchequer. After destroying Delhi and Punjab, his next target is Gujarat. However, the current scenario clearly suggests that the people of Gujarat have seen the state of Delhi and Punjab and won’t fall for ‘FREE BIJLI AUR PANI’.
