It seems that Congress leaders and its sympathisers have an arrogant ‘my way or the highway’ mentality. In their desperate attempt to court the party high command, they seem to work on the lines of trolls. Rather than conducting a meritorious deliberation over the suggestions of the Ex-Congress leaders, they are insanely lashing out to cancel their former colleagues. As per a new revelation, it seems that a smear campaign has been spearheaded by some Congress sympathising ‘journalists’ at the behest of Congress’ deep pockets and influence.
Is Congress monetising journalists to bash Ghulam Nabi Azad?
Last month, veteran politician Ghulam Nabi Azad ended his five-decade association with Congress. The disgruntled party leader did not mince words in accusing Rahul Gandhi of destroying the consultative process that existed earlier in Congress. As usual, Congress leaders started to level him with derogatory tags and cancel him as a political nobody. It was interesting, however, to see that some of the journalists went aggressive against Ghulam Nabi Azad for parting ways with Congress.

Interestingly, Senior Journalist Pallavi Ghosh has accused Congress leaders of orchestrating a smear campaign against Ghulam Nabi Azad. She tweeted that Congress had asked journalists to aggressively lambast Ghulam Nabi Azad. As per her claim, such demeaning and targeting tweets are done for a price.
She said, “A little birdie to me – Few congress beat reporters have been asked to aggressively tweet to bash Azad as the halla bol rally is on the way. Watch out for some of the tweets. And it’s for a ‘price’.”

Following his resignation, Azad has been in the firing range of several Congress-aligned journalists, and such attacks are expected to increase as he is upping his ante against Congress party.
Some journalists have accused pecuniary benefits of triumphing over party loyalists, while others are throwing lofty open ended questions to Congress leaders around Ghulam Nabi Azad’s rally in Jammu and Kashmir.

Congress strategy to attack Azad boomerangs
It seems that the Congress party has learned nothing from its failures. Rather than being humble and analysing the repeated criticism, it is launching personal attacks, which will only hurt it in the long run. Apparently, the attack, whether paid or influenced or ideologically driven, is only benefiting Ghulam Nabi Azad. Day-by-day more leaders from Jammu and Kashmir are rallying behind his clarion call for change in the Congress and its way of functioning.

Large gatherings in his rallies also depicted the growing public sentiment in favour of Ghulam Nabi Azad, or the much needed voice he raised against incessant falling ways of Congress high command.

It seems that Former J&K CM Ghulam Nabi Azad has cracked the glass ceiling that is forcefully imposed on every Congress leader in order to keep party Yuvraj’s false stature on the highest pedestal. It is high time for Congress to understand that insanely hitting out at former allies, opponents, electoral process or even voters will do them no good. They must bring the change from within, or else more Azads will desert the Congress party. Their relentless attack on such departed leaders may make them new Mamata Banerjee or Y. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who did the same and went on to become CM of their respective states.
