With Nitish’s new cabinet, Jungle Raj returns to Bihar

The change in administration in Bihar has coursed a different energy in the left-liberal ecosystem. They are rejoicing as if everything in the state has become hunky-dory. All of a sudden democracy has come back to life. Now, they can carry out their ‘acts’

openly with the connivance of the ruling administration. However, the on-ground reality is completely opposite. The fates of citizens are left at the mercy of the vengeance seeking administration. It seems that from now on criminals will script the future of Bihar.

72% of Cabinet marred with criminal cases

The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has released a report after analysing the newly appointed Bihar cabinet. In its analysis, ADR found that nearly 72% of the cabinet Ministers face criminal cases against them. Furthermore, half of the Nitish-Tejaswi cabinet are marred with serious criminal cases against themselves.

In the Bihar cabinet, RJD got the lion share of berths. It got 17 ministerial berths. Out of these 88% of RJD Ministers have declared criminal cases against themselves. 65% of them have serious criminal cases against them. The same pathetic situation is with the other alliance partners of the Mahagathbandhan. 4 out of 11 Ministers from Janata Dal-United (JDU) quota have criminal cases levelled against them. Topping this criminal chart is the Congress party with a 100% criminal record. It has two ministers in the Bihar cabinet. Both of them have declared criminal cases against themselves.

Shocking! An alleged Kidnapper is Bihar’s Law Minister

What is more tragic and a direct assault on democracy is that an alleged kidnapper Kartikeya Singh was sworn-in as the Law Minister of the state. This too happened on a date on which he had to surrender before the court in the kidnapping case. Although this may sound like any script from a gory film but it is now a harsh reality for the state.

Evidently, SSP Patna vindicated the fact that the newly-appointed Bihar Law Minister Kartikeya had an arrest warrant issued against him. In a cruel coincidence, the arrest warrant was issued on 19th of July against Kartikeya Singh but the Mokama police station received it on 31st of July. The SSP raised this concern about why it took 12 days for the warrant to travel merely a hundred kilometres from Danapur.

Apparently, the case against the newly-appointed Law Minister pertains to the kidnapping case of Rajiv Ranjan Singh which took place in the year 2014.

The principal opposition party, BJP, lambasted the ruling Nitish-Tejaswi government. They accused that Gunda Raj has begun in the state. Some called the newly-appointed Law Minister as a close aide of a Don. The party demanded that the CM Nitish Kumar should sack such Ministers who have criminal incidence.

Delhi | I am from Bihar & I am shameful of what's happening. Jungle Raj has begun. The law minister himself is an absconder, that too in a kidnapping case. He is the right hand of Anant Singh, who is a don. Does CM not know? Kartikeya Singh should be sacked: Union Min RK Singh pic.twitter.com/mWRvdeTtOO

Wahi Soch, Wahi Gunda Raj?

In the 2020 Bihar assembly elections, RJD used a campaign slogan ‘Nayee Soch, Naya Bihar’. This was to distance itself from the infamous 15-years of Lalu Raj which was notorious as Gunda Raj. RJD’s probable CM candidate Tejaswi Yadav made a strategic distance from his father’s administration. He even removed his father from the party posters.

RJD posters in Patna reading "Nayee Soch Naya Bihar, Yuva Sarkar Abki Baar" manifest that a conscious decision has been taken to keep Lalu out of RJD posters.#BiharElections #Politics#REhttps://t.co/rSPGwwWIWc

Also Read: It’s official, Nitish Kumar is the leader of Jungle Raj 2.0 in Bihar

However, it seems that all these were mere election tactics. He doesn’t have an iota of shame over what happened during the Gunda Raj 1.0 under his father’s reign. He along with his second-fiddle Nitish Kumar seems to have taken the vile path his father had traversed to reap political benefits for decades.

Irony must have died a hundred deaths seeing the newly-appointed ministers in the state. The only man responsible for this tragic state of affairs in Bihar is the ‘sushasan babu’ Nitish Kumar. For his political over-ambition, has served Bihar to the RJD clan on a silver platter. The same RJD which has become synonymous to a Gunda Raj1.0 and is only worsening the fear in the minds of citizens with steps emboldening the seasoned criminals in the state.
