Hrithik, Kashyap, Arjun Kapoor: Bollywood loses its head after LSC disaster

Lal chaddha

It seems that the Bollywood clique coteries don’t want to get off their high horses. They are exhibiting their arrogant behaviour and blaming everything under the sun except themselves for their repeated failures.

Their latest outburst on the monumental failure of Lal Singh Chaddha is a prominent example of their high handedness. While some are finding obnoxious reasons to defend their crappy movies others are resorting to veiled threats for the audience.

Lal Singh Chaddha: An epitome of Bollywood’s nefarious agenda

The Aamir Khan-starrer Lal Singh Chaddha is proving to be a monumental disaster. The movie became the talk of the town right before its release, for all the wrong reasons. People started giving clarion calls for its boycott.

The success of the boycott trend is evident from the fact that at the nascent stage of its release the movie had no takers. Several of its shows were cancelled and some theatres are running shows with very low occupancy.

As per media reports, the first 5 day collection of LSC has failed to cross the first-day collection of a disastrous flop ‘Thugs of Hindustan’.

If the current trend persists, the movie may fall short to gross even 50% of its budget. Ironically, this is happening when the so-called Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan himself has jumped for the movie promotion.

He is running from pillar to post, shedding crocodile tears for his past statements and controversies. Parallelly, the PR team of LSC deployed celebrities to create a positive vibe for the movie.

Hrithik Roshan made a tweet eulogising the movie. He asked the audience to go watch the movie.

He said, “Just watched LAL SINGH CHADDA. I felt the HEART of this movie. Pluses and minuses aside, this movie is just magnificent. Don’t miss this gem guys ! Go ! Go now . Watch it. It’s beautiful. Just beautiful.”

However, this boomeranged for the actor. People started pulling his past statements, controversies and gave calls to boycott his upcoming movie, Vikram Vedha, which is also a remake of South movie with the same name.

Anurag Kashyap: Enemy of Sanity

Lal Singh Chaddha got the moral and ‘logical’ support of Anurag Kashyap. The highly questionable and controversial character showcased his foot in mouth problem.

He tried to link the failure of Lal Singh Chaddha with GST on Paneer. Now, you may ask, what the logic behind this weird connection is. Well, there is none at all.

His claim that Lal Singh Chaddha failed because people could not afford to watch movies is just an arrogant attempt to pass the buck on others and give excuses for their failure.

Within the same time frame, movies like KGF2, RRR, The Kashmir Files, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 shattered many records. People wholeheartedly spent on these blockbuster movies. Content-oriented movies and web series have clicked among the Indian masses.

He further tried to play on the North-South divide. He claimed that people don’t know which movies are being released in Southern entertainment industries. He stressed that not just Bollywood; South cinemas are also facing troubles in attracting audiences.

Whatever foolish things he claims, the matter of fact is that, south content-driven movies and actors are beating Bollywood hands down. They are on the upswing in terms of revenue.

Arjun Kapoor: “Ishaqzaade”

The “acclaimed” actor Arjun Kapoor gave his opinion on the ongoing boycott trend which has shaken the Bollywood industry to the core. He opined that their “sarafat” is being exploited and it is time to get their hands dirty.

He gave a veiled threat stating that they have tolerated too much about it. He also terms that one of the reasons for this boycott trend is an agenda that blows things out of proportion.

He said, “I think we made a mistake by being silent for so long. Our decency was taken for our weakness. We always believe in ‘let the work speak for itself, all this doesn’t matter’. We tolerated a little too much. Now people are used to it. We need to come together and do something very genuine about it because whatever is written, whatever hashtags are used, they are far away from reality. Some agendas, they are turned into something big when in fact they don’t even exist.”

The actor made his debut with ‘Ishaqzaade’. Since then he has been in the news on multiple occasions, that too not for his legendary acting skills but his foul language and other controversies. Rather than issuing veiled threats to the audience they should shun their agenda of showing Hinduism in a bad light.

People have showered their love for content-oriented cinema. In addition to that the southern actors wear their culture on their sleeves and are proud of our tradition, history, and civilisation.

These meltdowns clearly reflect that Boycott trends are having their impact. Because of these trends Bollywood is coming down on knees in front of the audience. It will have to adapt itself according to the audience’s demand rather than that of their “masters”.

These statements attacking such trends also give hope of better times to come. As they say, ‘First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.’

LSC’s failure is only the beginning of a larger battle of narratives in which winning is the only option and it will soon be in plain sight.
