First Varun Grover and now this lady – Who is selecting the writers for Akshay Kumar?

Kanika Dhillon

Wokeism has eaten into the entertainment industry. Hurting the religious sentiments, having no respect for the nation, and being involved in drug rackets, is what Bollywood believes in and continues to do. Despite being slapped by the Indian audience, which by the way, is more evolved than ever, the propaganda industry continues to glorify those contributing to running an anti-Hindu and anti-India agenda.

Just when you thought that it is only Laal Singh Chaddha which is facing a huge backlash over the social media platforms, another movie seems to have joined the bandwagon. #BoycottRakshabandhan – this is what you would notice while scrolling down Twitter. Believe me, there’s a strong reason for that.

Kanika Dhillon- the writer of Raksha Bandhan

Akshay Kumar’s film Raksha Bandhan is all set to hit theatres on the 11th of August. However, a few days ahead of its release, it has begun garnering controversy with calls to  #BoycottRakshabandhan growing pronounced throughout the nation. The controversy erupted after a few tweets by Kanika Dhillon came into the limelight. For those unversed Kanika is one of the writers of Raksha Bandhan.

The nature of her tweets has not gone well with the netizens. In her tweets, she has called out incidents of public lynching over ‘cow vigilantism’. She also extended her support to the anti-CAA protests. Kanika Dhillon not only questioned the government but stooped to a low when criticizing certain religious practices.

One Twitter user Shefali Vaidya compiled these tweets by Kanika Dhillon, and wrote, “So this Hindu-hating woketard is the writer of @akshaykumar’s movie, #RakshaBandhan? I wouldn’t watch ANYTHING this woman is associated with! @KanikaDhillon.”

Another user noted, “So @KanikaDhillon has started deleting her tweets 17 tweets have been deleted by her in last half hour. (sic) We have many screen shots ! @akshaykumar can’t distance himself from this (sic) Boycott Rakshabandhan Movie Too.”

A third user commented, “Jo Desh ke khilaf Hum Unke Khilaf.. Anti Hindu ho ke 1 community ko Support karke jo Funding ke paiso se film bani hain hum uska Boycott karte hain .. Yeh New Generation hain.. Himmat bhi hain aur Dimag bhi…”

You see, Kanika Dhillon is an anti-Hindu woman, another liberal in the cue who only spews venom against the government, Hindus and even the nation.

Varun Grover – the lyricist of Samrat Prithviraj

Akshay Kumar’s last release was Samrat Prithviraj which was probably one of the biggest flop of the year. “Hari Har”- a central track of the Prithviraj Chauhan movie, was written by lyricist Varun Grover. The song has a great background, beautiful composition and at an overall level, it is rather enthralling. But there is something strange.

The opening stanza of the song compares Prithviraj Chauhan with historical figures. At the beginning, it states, “Aisa ek prithviraj jaise gokul mein ho mohan. Aisa ek prithviraj jaise kurkchhetra mein Arjun.” Now, the analogy with Bhagwan Krishna’s childhood and warrior Arjun is fine.

However, it continues, “Aisa ek prithviraj jaise Lanka mein dashanan.” Now, the comparison with ‘Lanka mein Dashanan’, that is, Ravana is outlandish and we don’t even understand how it makes any sense. And this is why we have no hope left for the Prithviraj Chauhan movie.

Who is selecting the writers for Akshay Kumar?

The question here is – who is selecting writers for Akshay Kumar? On one hand, there is Varun Grover who shamelessly compares warrior Prithviraj Chauhan to demon king Ravana and on another hand, miss liberal Kanika Dhillon has been roped in for writing script for Akshay Kumar. Is it the production house of the respective films or Unfunny bones Twinkle Khanna behind the scam?

Well, it is yet to be known. But, Akshay Kumar needs to ensure that no such writers are roped in for his film or he will end up ruining his career and begging people to watch his movie like Aamir Khan is forced to do.
