The one who messes with her has to pay for the misadventure and the same is going to repeat with the Congress party regarding the recent controversy related to Goa’s “illegal bar”.
Smriti Irani: A woman of words
Smriti Zubin Irani, handling various top portfolios in the Narendra Modi cabinet like the minority affairs and women and child development ministry has braved a storm against the Congress Party. Through the claims, Congress had not only “assassinated” and publicly mutilated” her daughter’s character but has also made her daughter a social outcast by claiming that she is running a bar, read the statement issued by the minister.
Irani had yesterday launched a fierce attack on the Congress party and has warned them that she will seek answers in “the court of law and court of people.” Following up on her words, Irani, has sent legal notice to three Congress leaders including Pawan Khera, Jairam Ramesh and Netta D’ Souza and their party for dragging her 18-year old daughter into the “illegal bar” controversy. The Union Minister has now sought a written unconditional apology and withdrawal of allegations against her daughter with immediate effect from the Congress.
The reality behind the entire controversy
Though it has been claimed that the illegal bar has been run by the daughter of Smriti Irani, Zoish Irani, there isn’t an iota of truth to the widely propagated claim. Contrary to the claim, Zoish Irani, at the age of 16, was an intern at a restaurant in Goa. And for Congress’ general knowledge interns are not the owners. The daughter of Union Minister; doing an internship at the age of 16, is already a thing to admire, looking at the nepotism being practised in India. However, the ones going behind Irani’s daughter had done zero research and this is quite evident.
To put the facts right, the restaurant’s licence was renewed last month, for which application was made in June this year. The licence is being renewed by the legal heir of the owner Anthony D Gama, who passed away in May last year. Thus, the case became an easy pick for the Congress which was craving for an opportunity to target Smriti Irani.

To add on this, the one who has dug up the entire matter is none other than alleged lawyer Aries Rodrigues, whose nationality status is dicey till date. To take into note, Narayan M Gad, the excise commissioner of Goa had issued a show cause notice to the restaurant after receiving a complaint from Rodrigues. Rodrigues had claimed that the owners had submitted “fraudulent and fabricated documents” to get the license. To state, Rodrigues is a man who thrives on controversies. All he does is give birth to political controversies in the guise of legalities for staying in the good books of political parties. Also, he is the same man who wished death for former Defence minister Manohar Parikar. So to conclude, the entire case is bogus, created for media frenzy.
The target here is Smriti Irani herself, here’s how?
In her press conference yesterday, Irani said that the intention of the Congress was to malign her as she had the audacity to stand and speak against the Gandhis. To support her stance, she asked Congress about the mention of her daughter’s name in the paper?
Irani was making the accurate point as she has always been an eyesore for the Congress which entirely functions on the directions of the Nehru-Gandhi family. Hailing from the entertainment industry, she has always been a soft target. But everytime she has thrashed the opposition with no mercy. This time the retaliation was even more fierce as the attack was pointed at her child. Indian mothers fight tooth and nail to protect their children, and this time the mother is a fierce lady who threw Gandhi scion Rahul Gandhi out of his bastion. Irani is the people’s leader who not only tossed Rahul Gandhi from Amethi to Wayanad but has also taken upon herself to make India, Congressmukt.
Smriti Irani has survived many personal and professional attacks, and has humbled her opponents in a ruthless manner. She has given it back to everyone attacking her, and with this recent controversy Irani is all set to come out even more stronger.
