Every nation on the globe has challenges related to geographical boundaries. India has it too, and it has been on the defensive for a very long time, that ultimately made its people suffer. The Indian subcontinent has many challenges in the South-Asian region, in the Indian Ocean region, the infiltration in the North-East, China’s aggression in the Ladakh region, and to sum it up Pakistan and its terrorism. To fight such a battle, standing on the defensive front is neither possible nor practical. Hence, India under the leadership of PM Modi has taken up the strategy of ‘Offensive Defensive’, and recent remarks of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on POK can be viewed in that light.
With Maa Sharda remarks, Rajnath Singh dropped a hint about POK
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, while speaking on the occasion of the 23rd Kargil Diwas showed Pakistan its place. He not only laid out India’s stand but categorically emphasised that Pakistan Occupied Kashmir will always be a part of India.
During his address, he made one more thing clear, that the Modi government is not content with the artificial division of Hindus’ place of worship. Singh said, “How is it possible that Baba Amarnath is in India and Maa Sharda Shakti is across the Line of Control (LOC).”
Well, the statement has made the ‘mic-prime minister’ of Pakistan a bit nervous and has shaken the Pakistani administration to its core.
A terrified Pakistan now hides under the skirt of UN
Well, the terrified administration of Pakistan did what they could. The only no option they had is to issue a statement in this regard, probably to hold on to the trust of the Pakistani public. However, the statement was too shallow and depicted a dearth of historical knowledge.
The Pakistani Foreign Office falsely claimed that the Indian Minister distorted well-established historical facts about the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. The statement read, “The minister in his remarks distorted the well-established historical facts about the Jammu & Kashmir dispute, leveled baseless allegations and hurled threats against Pakistan.” The Pakistani ministry resorted to its old tune of Jammu and Kashmir being an internationally recognized dispute as per the UN agenda.
A Twitter exchange occurred between the Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the Pakistani ministry. Rajnath Singh tweeted, “PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) is part of India, we believe it. A unanimous resolution has also been passed in this regard in the Parliament.” To which the Pakistani ministry responded by saying, “Provocative statements by Indian political figures cannot alter the reality of IIOJK (Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir).”
Can India occupy PoK?
The Pakistani ministry has said that none can alter the reality of Jammu and Kashmir. Well, just to increase the General Knowledge of the Pakistani administration, it was Pakistan who launched a back door attack on the princely state, through tribal invaders. And India can take back POK, the day it wishes as India is economically, military, diplomatically and strategically well placed to declare PoK as another Union Territory.
Pakistani military doesn’t stand a chance before its Indian counterpart, as the Indian military is superior and has a lot of experience in high-altitude warfare. To add to this, India is the fastest growing major economy in the world whereas Pakistan has gone bankrupt. And if India and Pakistan lock horns, New Delhi will be able to foot the bill of the war.
The last, international pressure, well, for that India has long ago stopped taking dictation from the West. Also, PoK is an Indian territory illegally occupied by Pakistan and if India recaptures PoK, it will be restoring the status quo ante.
So, dear Pakistan, it is just a matter of time.
