The uncertain world due to successive waves of Covid and geopolitical tensions has made an environment of stagflation. Incomes are decreasing, businesses are hesitant to invest and international trade is at a standstill. Fighting inflation and economic recovery, the Indian growth story was also negatively impacted by these problems, and the economic slowdown deepened the already employment crisis in India. So it becomes very important for the national government to accelerate the economic activities through public investment and support the system.

The government’s announcement aligns with its Atmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana (ABRY) which was launched in October 2020 as part of Atmanirbhar Bharat package 3.0, to incentivize employers for the creation of new employment along with social security benefits and restoration of loss of employment during Covid-19 pandemic.
The announcement has arrived in the view of increasing inflation and decreasing employment in the public sector in the country. The hardship caused by Covid was on the path of recovery but global tensions and rising prices of common commodities once again brought the situation back to square one. On the burning issue of employment, opposition are also trying to form a joint resistance against the Modi government before the general election 2024.

Unification on the employment issue
Member of Parliament, Varun Gandhi is continuously raising the issue of employment on social media. Yesterday, echoing the statement of Asaduddin Owaisi, Varun Gandhi said “Unemployment is the most burning issue of the country today and the leaders of the whole country should draw the attention of the government to this issue. Unemployed youth should get justice, only then the country will become powerful. I am grateful that my questions raised on employment were mentioned by Asaduddin Owaisi Ji in his speech”.

Employment in the public sector has indeed been irregular in recent years and Covid has launched a double sword on the youth of the country. Assessing the situation, the opposition is also trying to raise such issues which affect the population at large.

Now, the real test of the Modi government would be in releasing the announced goal of 10 lakh jobs in 1.5 years by the Government in mission mode. If the goal is achieved before the 2024 general elections, it will give a huge boost to the Modi government in elections, and once again Modi would be successful in snatching the key issue from the opposition.
