However, the tables have turned as Heard filed for divorce and it was finalized in 2016. Depp, too, agreed to pay Heard “in the region of $8 million” for alimony.

A US jury ruled in favour of Johnny Depp in his defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard. The jury has awarded the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor $15 million and his ex-wife $2 million. Amber Heard has been found guilty of defamation and it has been proved that Johnny Depp was defamed. The seven-member jury in Virginia awarded the 58-year-old actor $15 million in damages only after observing that a 2018 article penned by Heard on her experience of “sexual violence” was defamatory to Depp.
Heard kept her eyes open and listened blankly as the verdict was being read out in Fairfax court, near the US capital. In response to the verdict, Amber Heard released a statement in which she said that she was ‘disappointed’ and ‘heartbroken’ at the decision. “I am sad I lost this case,” she said.
“The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I’m heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband,” Heard said.
Depp, meanwhile, posted on Instagram that the jury “gave me my life back.”

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard met in 2009 on the set of their film “The Rum Diary” and were married from 2015 to 2016 before divorcing. In 2018, the “Aquaman” actress Amber wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post. She wrote about women who’ve survived domestic abuse.
This op-ed led the people to speculate that Heard was talking about the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star.
Thus, Depp filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit in 2019 against Amber for the false allegations she made in the Washington Post op-ed. Depp claims that the one op-ed penned by Amber ruined his career and cost him in excess of $40 million in earnings.
In retaliation, she attempted to dismiss the suit but after it was denied, she filed her own $100 million countersuit in 2020, saying Depp’s lawsuit is “frivolous.”
Depp’s $50 million lawsuit against Heard came into the limelight in April. The televised court case and legal proceedings have revealed that Depp has suffered from childhood abuse and then drug addiction. The case then went on to explore Depp’s unstable relationship with Heard.
Meanwhile, Heard has also revealed that she has been abused and alleged that her former husband threatened to kill her while the two were in the Bahamas in July 2013.
The man’s career has been completely destroyed as the ‘woke’ west do not consider the fact that men could be a victim too. Amber Heard left no stone unturned to tarnish the image of Depp.

While the case has vindicated the ugly side of feminism, it also suggests that men can be victims too. It seems like the case has led people to introspect about the victimisation of men. It has led people to believe that men can be framed over fake charges and they are not always guilty.

Disha Patani, who is believed to be the national crush of India, took to her Instagram stories and shared a photo of Johnny Depp. She wrote, “Nobody can ever replace you Johnny Depp (sic),” she wrote, presumably referring to Depp’s removal from the Pirates franchise.”
Neil Nitin Mukesh shared a photo of Depp in an Instagram story and wrote, “And there is justice (sic).”

It must be noted that Johnny Depp’s victory against Amber Heard is not just his victory but the victory of men. The verdict is the proof that crime has no gender and men, sometimes, are defamed and demeaned under the garb of rights and feminism.
