After 14 years of ‘efforts’ to copy a Hollywood film, Aamir Khan will soon hit the big screen with the much-awaited Laal Singh Chaddha. The upcoming Aamir Khan starrer is the official remake of the Oscar-winning movie Forrest Gump. Forrest Gump was released 28 years ago on July 6th, 1994. The core story of Forrest Gump Movie revolved around a dim-wit simpleton and how he successfully traversed through life.
However, it was highly political in nature and thus, it would be safe to say that “Laal Singh Chaddha” too will be political.
Forrest Gump Movie was all about conservative values
Forrest Gump was high on conservative values. Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump was born and brought up in the red state of Alabama, was a god-fearing family man, an all-American football player, and a war hero who had no use of the growing counterculture movement prevailing at the time in America, which not surprisingly has turned into ‘Cancel culture’ in the present context.

He falls in love with a girl named Jenny, who is liberal in her thought process. Jenny becomes a hippie, ditching Gump, joins anti-war movements, and hangs out with the Black Panthers while snorting drugs and psychedelics of all kinds. Eventually, pondering suicide and later died of an unspecified disease.
In 2009 the National Review ranked ‘Forrest Gump’ No. 4 on its list of the 25 best conservative films of the past 25 years. And thus, more so than ever, the movie continues to invite polarizing views.
“Laal Singh Chaddha” will be highly political
However, with Aamir Khan, the movie will be a disaster. He has picked a Sardar for the protagonist role. A Sardar, who is typically well respected by an average Indian, is stereotyped by Bollywood as a simpleton — a loveable yet dumb simpleton. He could have easily picked a character based on his own religion or any other minority community, but his head would have been on the spike in no time. So, he settled with a Sardar.
As far as the Forrest Gump is considered, the movie depicted sergeants in a bad light. The Drill Sergeant can be seen screaming in the face of the new Army recruit, Forrest Gump. In a scene, Drill Sergeant asks, “Gump! What’s your sole purpose in this army?” To which Forrest Gump replies, “To do whatever you tell me, drill sergeant!”

Drill Sergeant then replies, “God damn it, Gump! You’re a god damn genius! This is the most outstanding answer I have ever heard. You must have a goddamn I.Q. of 160. You are goddamn gifted, Private Gump. Listen up, people…”
You see, the movie showed the US army in a bad light. Aamir Khan, too, will be doing the same in the remake. It’s just that America will be replaced by India. You cannot expect Aamir Khan to understand the difference between both armies, right?
Coming to another aspect, Forrest Gump Movie had displayed the US -Vietnam War as a silly, stupid one that shouldn’t have happened. Aamir Khan, for the person he is, is surely going to depict the India – Pakistan war the same as US-Vietnam one. Mind you, India-Pakistan can never be compared with the stupidest war fought ever, that is, the US-Vietnam War.
The movie “Laal Singh Chaddha”, following the storyline of “Forrest Gump” will also try to glorify anti-war hippies like Barkha Dutt. These so-called journalists, not journalists but the left-liberal journalists, will be portrayed as saints in Aamir Khan’s movie.
You see, Aamir Khan is definitely going to prove that he is a real artist with the release of his upcoming film “Laal Singh Chaddha”. After all, manipulating things as per the propaganda is also an art, right?
However, we, the audience, are ready to give a cold shoulder to this propaganda movie by Aamir Khan.
