This is a story about the lord of all the astras- the Brahmastra!” With megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s voiceover, the trailer of the upcoming film ‘Brahmastra’ begins only to prove later what a colossal disaster it is.

‘Brahmastra’ is here
Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji’s much-awaited ‘Brahmastra’ Part 1 trailer was released on Wednesday. The trailer depicts that the film will be high on VFX and special effects. Adding to the special effect and VFX, there is megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna. Moreover, Alia Bhat and Mouni Roy too are part of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Brahmastra.
Unfortunately, despite such a star cast, the trailer is disappointing. On the occasion of the trailer launch, director Ayan Mukerji said, “Marking the beginning of a new cinematic universe, ‘The Astraverse’, I believe Brahmāstra is the kind of film that the country would feel really proud of. It touches on our roots; celebrates our rich culture and takes us forward with our technology. The film is proudly Indian and Imaginative and bringing together some of Pan-India’s most renowned names was a dream come true!”
As far as the story is concerned, BRAHMASTRA: PART ONE, revolves around SHIVA – the protagonist, and his love interest named Isha. Shiva later realises that his mysterious powers that turns the world of both Shiva and Isha upside down.
Brahmastra 2 will probably never come
While the recently launched trailer is believed to be a glimpse of ‘magic’ the film will create on big screens in September, the poor concept of the film suggests that Brahmastra 2 will only be in our imaginations. Yes, you heard it right.
The depth of knowledge about ‘Brahmastra’ and celestial weapons of Hindu gods is clearly visible in the trailer. Be it the poor pronunciation of Ranbir Kapoor that is nothing but a weird amalgamation of Hindi and Punjabi or the amateur VFX showing the visuals exactly similar to what we have seen in cartoons and old Hollywood movies, the trailer disappoints you to the core.
Talking about the star cast, Ranbir Kapoor has always performed decently but when it comes to a film that requires good command of Hindi, Ranbir is not the right cast. Nagarjuna seems to have been cast only to project him as a bad actor. Mouni Roy’s character seems to have been copied from some Hollywood character.
Now, let’s talk about the most ‘iconic’ dialogue of the year, “Brahmastra ki Kismat ka Sikander.” The dialogue is complicated beyond the extent. Brahmastra is the most powerful celestial weapon of gods and how dare the filmmakers compare it with Alexander the Great. When did Alexander become worth even being compared with Brahmastra?
The budget of Brahmāstra is reportedly Rs. 300 crores and it is one of the most expensive films of 2022. Well, the producers have spent on the wrong product and could have come up with two or three films. Mind you, the films that are meaningful and represent the real India through cinema.
Netizens roasted the Brahmastra trailer
Indian audience is growing smart and understands the difference between authenticity and stale content.
Trolls also found the Brahmastra trailer to be a mix of Aquaman and Avengers. Many associated it with the Hollywood superhero flicks and Marvel outings.
A Twitter user also highlighted how Ranbir Kapoor, in the trailer of Brahmastra, can be seen wearing shoes in a temple.

Witnessing the declining popularity of Bollywood in the last few years, Brahmastra was believed to be the last hope for the entertainment industry. However, its trailer has led people to believe that they should stop expecting from Bollywood.
