Career
Sharma made her acting debut as a child artist in the 1983 movie Indira before making her adult acting debut in the Bengali thriller Ek Je Aachhe Kanya (2000). She first came to public recognition with her portrayal in her mother’s 2002 English-language film Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, for which she won the National Film Award for Best Actress.
Konkona Sen first gained attention in the drama Page 3 (2005), and since then, she has starred in a variety of movies, most of which have brought her critical acclaim rather than box office success. She received back-to-back wins for Best Supporting Actress from Filmfare for her roles in Omkara (2006) and Life in a Metro (2007).
Her work in the former earned her a second National Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress. For her work in the Bengali movie Goynar Baksho, she was the inaugural recipient of the Best Actress prize at the Filmfare Awards East (2014).
Konkona Sen won the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Director in 2017 for her debut film as a director, A Death in the Gunj. She appeared in Lipstick Under My Burkha that same year, which earned her numerous accolades internationally.

Born on December 3, 1979, Sharma. Her mother Aparna Sen was an actress and film director, while her father Mukul Sharma was a science writer and journalist. Kamalini Chatterjee is her older sister. Chidananda Dasgupta, Sen Sharma’s maternal grandfather, was a cinema critic, academic, professor, author, and one of the founding members of the Calcutta Film Society. Jibanananda Das, a renowned contemporary Bengali poet, was a relative of her grandmother Supriya Dasgupta.
Sen Sharma graduated with a degree in English in 2001 from St Stephen’s College in Delhi. She attended the Contemporary High School for Girls.
Relationship
In 2007, Konkona Sen Sharma and co-star Ranvir Shorey began dating. On September 3, 2010, the pair exchanged vows in a private ceremony. According to The Times of India, Sen Sharma gave birth to Haroon on March 15, 2011, in a South Mumbai hospital.
In September 2015, Sen Sharma and Shorey made their split public. They continue to be close and have joint custody of their son. The divorce was finalized on August 13, 2020.
