Kavin Raj is a Tamil actor who has starred in films and television shows in the Tamil language. He is most known for playing the lead character in Saravanan Meenatchi, a popular Tamil serial. He later went on to play Shiva in the film Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma. Career
His first television appearance was in the college version of Kana Kaanum Kaalangal, in which he played a student. He continued to work for Star Vijay, playing supporting roles in the serials Thayumanavan and Saravanan Meenatchi’s first season.
In the second season of Saravanan Meenatchi, Kavin was cast as an adversary, but his character Vettaiyan went through a character journey and eventually became the main character.
Kavin Raj decided not to act in any future television series once season 2 ended, stating his aim to break into the Tamil film industry.
In late 2016, Kavin had supporting roles in S. R. Prabhakaran’s Sathriyan (2017) and Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma (2019). He had minor appearances in Karthik Subbaraj’s Pizza (2012) and Ravikumar’s Indru Netru Naalai before these films (2015). Sathriyan, starring Vikram Prabhu and Manjima Mohan, received mixed reviews upon its release, while Kavin’s performance as a doctor alongside Aishwarya Dutta in the film received mixed reviews as well.
Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma saw him work alongside director Shiva Aravind, whom he met during his time with Star Vijay. They collaborated on the script.

Kavin rose to prominence after appearing in the third season of Bigg Boss Tamil, following which he was cast as the lead in Vineeth Varaprasad’s film Lift. In Doctor and Beast, he worked as an associate director. On February 11, 2022, his romance online series Akash Vaani premiered. Currently, he is working on the film Oor Kuruvi.
He hosted some prominent events in the south industry including Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu For Star Vijay, Vijay Television Awards 2015 & 2017 For Star Vijay, Kings of Dance (season 1) For Star Vijay.
