Sheikh Abdullah has been erased from J&K’s highest gallantry medal

What would you suggest should be done with the person who has been working against the interest of the nation? Some would suggest capital punishment, others might agree with life imprisonment but what is quite obvious that nobody would suggest rewarding them. Right? Wrong, the Indian government in the past had been eulogising and rewarding the Kashmiri terrorists/separatists in the valley, to woo their vote bank. Thankfully, the present J&K administration has ended this atrocious practice.

Laudable step of the J&K administration

The Jammu and Kashmir administration is working continuously to end the skewed policies in the Union Territory (UT). In a latest development, the government has ended the flawed practice of eulogising a highly controversial figure, that is, Sheikh Abdullah. The J&K administration, on Monday, passed an order to replace Sheikh Abdullah’s embossed face on the Jammu and Kashmir Police Medal with the Indian emblem. Also, the then J&K emblem too has been done away from the Police medal.

The order passed by the administration stated,“It is hereby ordered that in modification to Para 4 of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Medal Scheme, the Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah embossed on one side of the medal shall be replaced with ‘the National Emblem of the Government of India’. The other side inscribed with the J & K State Emblem shall be inscribed as ‘Jammu and Kashmir Police Medal for Gallantry’ and the ‘Jammu and Kashmir Police Medal for Meritorious Service’, as the case may be”.

Reclaiming the great legacy of Kashmir from the clutches of Islamic mindset

Earlier, the J&K administration distanced itself from the past gory legacy of Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah. For that, in 2020, it ended observing his birth anniversary as a public holiday in the UT. The political dynasties reduced J&K to their private mansion. But in reality, Kashmir got its name after the famous Hindu Rishi Kashyap and has a timeless legacy of Hinduism in the valley. Evidently, the J&K administration has been taking many steps to reclaim the long historic legacy of Hinduism in the UT.

Recently, the J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha joined the Hindu devotees to offer Navgrah Ashtamangalam Puja at the Martand Surya Mandir in Anantnag. The LG Manoj Sinha on the Puja said, “We are making dedicated efforts to transform historical spiritual places of J&K into vibrant centres that will guide us on the path of righteousness and bless this beautiful land with peace, happiness and prosperity.”

It is great to see that the controversial anti-Hindu faces of the valley are finally wiped off from the state’s awards and good books. Kashmir will never be attached to politicians who have only brought disgrace to the Kashmiri community. The valley has been a spiritual centre for Hindus and anyone who promoted enmity against the Kashmiri Hindus will be replaced by true patriots of the soil. Hence, this step of the J&K administration to detach UT’s legacy with Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah is exemplary and many similar events are needed in the valley to reclaim its true Kashyap’s legacy.
