Ravi Krishna is a former Indian actor who has appeared in Tamil and Telugu films. He made his acting debut in Selvaraghavan’s critically acclaimed 7G Rainbow Colony, the son of producer A. M. Rathnam. For his performance in that film, he received the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut – South. Career
Ravi Krishna won the South Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut of the Year for his debut film 7G Rainbow Colony, directed by Selvaraghavan and produced by his father, among other lesser prizes. He underwent a one-month acting course at King’s College London’s Film Institute before beginning to shoot the film.
Following that, he appeared in S. A. Chandrasekhar’s Sukran, in which he co-starred with fellow actor Vijay, the Radha Mohan-directed family drama Ponniyin Selvan, and his brother Jyothi Krishna’s action-masala film Kedi.
His father produced all of the films, which garnered mixed reviews and did poorly at the box office.
Brahmanandam Drama Company, his first direct Telugu attempt, was similarly a box office flop, with Ravi Krishna bemoaning the film’s failure due to insufficient funding and publicity.
In 2009, he acted in Kadhalna Summa Illai, a remake of the Telugu film Gamyam, and his next release was the bilingual Netru Indru Naalai / Ninna Nedu Repu. His final film, Aaranya Kaandam, was dubbed the first neo-noir film in Tamil cinema.
