Punam Raut, sometimes known as Poonam Raut, is an Indian cricketer who represents India’s women’s squad. The small hitter is a stylish player who can pitch for extended periods of time. In all three formats of the game, she has represented India. She is active in the Indian Cricket team since 2009. She was born on October 14, 1989, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her full name is Punam Ganesh Raut. Punam Raut has played for Mumbai and the Indian Railways women’s team.
Career
Raut made her ODI debut in 2009 and has been a regular for the national team since then. According to BCCI’s official website, she has scored 1567 runs in 53 one-day internationals.
Raut achieved a world record opening partnership of 320 runs with Deepti Sharma in an ODI against Ireland on 15 May 2017, contributing 109 runs. This surpassed the previous women’s record of 229 (held by Sarah Taylor and Caroline Atkins of England) as well as the men’s record of 286 in ODIs (by Upul Tharanga and Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka).
Poonam Raut was a member of the Indian squad that advanced to the 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup final, where they lost by nine runs against England.
She was picked to India’s Test squad for a one-off match against England women’s cricket team in May 2021.

2022 ICC ODI World Cup Trivia
Punam Raut, a member of the Indian women’s team, voiced her anger at being left out of the ICC ODI World Cup squad for 2022. Mithali Raj, a seasoned veteran, commanded the team, with Harmanpreet Kaur as her deputy. Smriti Mandhana, Jhulan Goswami, and Shafali Verma were among the seniors on the team.
Along with Punam, top batter Jemimah Rodrigues and all-rounder Shikha Pandey were left out of India’s 15-member women’s cricket side, which played in New Zealand.
