The Aam Aadmi Party is a notorious organisation. On the surface, AAP may appear to be an innocent party that represents the aspirations of ordinary Indians but it is just a party of freebies. Under Arvind Kejriwal, services for which citizens usually need to pay are subsidised using taxpayer money itself. However, AAP is more sinister than it appears. What often goes unnoticed is the AAP’s appetite for anarchy and chaotic politics. In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) shamelessly fanned Khalistani sentiments. This campaign to woo radical elements in Punjab has been going on since 2017, when AAP chief Kejriwal slept at the home of Gurwinder Singh, a Khalistan Liberation Front activist.
Again, in 2017, Gurdial Singh, the chief operative of the banned International Sikh Youth Federation, campaigned for AAP MLA Jaikishan Singh Rodi. Sukhpal Singh Khaira, an AAP leader ‘justified’ Khalistan referendum 2020. He said that the organizers of the referendum were “within their rights” to carry it out.
AAP’s Himachal Unit Caught Red-Handed
AAP’s Khalistani proclivities need no introduction. Arvind Kejriwal is alleged to have admitted to Kumar Vishwas that if he cannot become the chief minister of Punjab, he will become its Prime Minister.
Now, it turns out Punjab is not the only state where AAP has been fanning the flames of Khalistan. In Himachal Pradesh, AAP’s State President for social media and a former Punjab representative for AAP’s ChattraYuva Sangharsh Samiti, Harpreet Singh Bedi has been exposed as a Khalistani.
The social media convenor of AAP Harpreet Singh Bedi’s Twitter handle @iHarpreetSBedi no longer exists. Why, you might ask? Well, because the man’s pro-Khalistan tweets have gone viral on social media, forcing him to delete his account.

In 2012, Bedi shared a morphed image of a conceptualised ‘Khalistani Dollar’ with the image of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale on it. Most interestingly, Bedi justified separatist slogans and said, “If saying Khalistan is Deshdroha (sedition) then saying Hindustan is also the same according to the constitution.”
In 2019, Bedi was seen asking Delhi BJP leader Kapil Mishra, ‘Since Muslims and Dalits are being allegedly killed in the name of Ram and Cow, why can’t Khalistan Zindabad be said when Constitution gives the right to do so?”
AAP Denounces Bedi; Too Little Too Late
After Harpreet Singh Bedi’s tweets became viral, AAP pretended to stand up against his ideology. The party’s state unit tweeted, “Views expressed by Harpreet Singh Bedi in his tweets are against Aam Aadmi Party’s ideology & do not represent the opinion of the party in any way. AAP firmly believes in the unity & integrity of our great nation & would never tolerate anyone writing anything against our county. The party hereby expels him from all posts with immediate effect.”

There is no way AAP did not know about the kind of ideology Bedi harboured. He has been an active leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, and it is impossible that his seditious tweets escaped the eyes of higher-ups within the party. Therefore, the fake show being put up by AAP, of sacking the man from all posts held by him is a mere eyewash.
Recently, there was a big inflow of Khalistani sympathisers from Punjab to Himachal Pradesh. Could it be that AAP is the organisation behind such an upswing of separatist activity in the hill state? All possible angles must be explored, and AAP must be exposed for the notorious organisation that it is.
