While the opposition attempted to tarnish the image of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanathby calling him ‘Bulldozer Baba’, it did not take long for Yogi to become popular for the ‘bulldozer treatment’ against mafias in the state. Such was the impact that the leaders of other states too began adopting the very model. However, they were the BJP ruled state that hailed Yogi’s bulldozer model. Interestingly, the non-BJP states have now also begun following the Yogi’s treatment. Yes, you heard it right. Let’s dive in to know more.
Mann hails Yogi model
It was a few days back when AAP was condemning the anti-encroachment drive in Delhi. Well, it was necessary to criticise the central government, right? But we have proof that the criticism was only for the sake of the narrative of AAP and it didn’t really oppose the Yogi’s ‘Bulldozer model’. Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab government has stepped in to launch an anti-encroachment drive in the state.
Last week, Rural Development and Panchayat Minister KS Dhaliwal stated that “The Punjab administration, under the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has set a target to get illegal encroachments vacated.”
Minister Dhaliwal further reported that “The AAP Punjab administration had set a target for officials to get illegal encroachments vacated from 5,000 acres of panchayat land in the state.” Speaking to the media Dhaliwal stated that “The government would bulldoze the illegal constructions in panchayat land provided the owners don’t pay for it.’
“We’ve decided to remove encroachment from panchayat land. We decided to start this drive from this month,” minister KS Dhaliwal told. “First, we’ll request all those who have constructed illegal houses or structures to vacate them or pay for them, otherwise be ready for bulldozer,” the AAP leader added.

Interestingly, the Arvind Kejriwal-led party had opposed the encroachment drive by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). AAP had shared a video on Twitter and tweeted that “Delhi me BJP ki gundagardi nahi chalegi.”
"MCD हमारी दुकान पर Bulldozer चलाने आई थी लेकिन AAP MLA आ गए, और उन्हें देख कर BJP वाले भाग गए!"

The Yogi government has made use of bulldozers so much that it is nearly the second election symbol for the BJP or maybe even more popular than the Lotus symbol of the saffron party. So much so that even bulldozers were present in many of Yogi and BJP’s election rallies. In Uttar Pradesh, it has also instilled fear of consequences in case of any wrongdoings.
However, it wasn’t expected that AAP who relentlessly attacks the ruling government will also praise Yogi’s Bulldozer model. Though indirectly, Bhagwant Mann has accepted that it is the only treatment that should be adopted to deal with the criminals, mafias and miscreants illegally occupying government land.
