Career
Tejaswini Manogna was born on 19 May 1994 in the city Mahbubnagar, Telangana. She did her schooling from Rosary Convent High School and was a member of the National Cadet Corps, a youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces. At the age of 16, she was selected as ‘India’s Best NCC Cadet’ and ‘Best Shooter’ among 1.3 million cadets of the Indian Air Force, Army and Navy. She was awarded the Young Achiever Award at the meeting of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation in Sri Lanka. In 2017, received a bachelor’s degree in medicine (MBBS) from Osmania Medical College.
Manogana is also trained in Bharatanatyam, a major form of Indian classical dance. She is recognized nationally by Doordarshan and the Ministry of Culture of India as a graded professional dancer. She has given several concerts and workshops in Yorkshire, Feltham and Sheffield. She holds a Diploma in Yoga Training and has worked as a Yoga Instructor in Hyderabad. She also performed Bharatanatyam in front of former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
Miss Earth 2019
Tejaswini represented India at Miss Earth 2019 where she won the ‘Miss Global Choice’ and ‘Eco Trivia’ awards. She was selected as the winner of the Water Group’s talent round to perform Bharatanatyam in tribute to Mother Earth. She also placed third among her group in the Best in Long Gown contest. The last coronation ceremony was held on 26 October 2019 in Okada Manila, Paranaque City, Philippines.
