Since its independence, India has struggled to maintain its effort to bring unity and integrity to the nation. The separatist and regionalists have given a tough challenge to the idea of Bharat. The existence of multiple cultures and languages has given a strong weapon to separatist and regionalist forces to divide the country. Although India has never let these forces win, they continue to pose a great threat to the nation.
One Nation One Exam
Modi government in their rule has maintained its strong position to bring unity to the country. It has launched various national schemes to reach directly to the poor. Further, overhaul reform in the education sector has also brought uniformity in the entrance test.
Earlier the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) reformed the medical education system. At the regional level, many medical colleges use to sell the seat, ignoring the merit of students. Now the centre has brought the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) to provide a common platform and equal opportunities for candidates across the country to enter the Central Universities through a common university entrance test. It will be conducted in 13 languages. It is an effort to bring a unified simple process to take admission the universities.

Need for the reform
The rampant corruption and favouritism at the local level have never let the level playing field equal for all students. Further, there has been a lack of uniformity in the courses they offer at the local level which ultimately cost students getting Jobs. The central effort in conducting the examination will help in bringing financial and infrastructural support to universities.
Regionalism And Politics
The regional political parties have always challenged the strong National identity of Bharat. They always try to divide people on the line of caste, region, language, and culture. To gain their own political vote bank they try to create an axis of language and region.
The consciousness and loyalty to a particular identity of people largely affect the National reflection of the people and generate a sense of regional pride in the identity. In the name of a logical federal polity, they seek to create a sense of separate identity for diverse people.

The regional demand will lead to the Balkanization of India
India is a multicultural and multilingual country. The diverse identity is our strength. Since the beginning of human civilization, the eternal existence of Bharat is there. But the selfish regional politician always tries to ping their finger in the sensitive issues to create a different regional identity which ultimately reeks of the idea of separate political and geographical identity. If the demand of these regionalists is taken into account, India will break into many countries ultimately leading to the Balkanization of the nations.

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and its president MK Stalin’s request to stop the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is another effort to promote regionalism in the country. The unity of a strong India always gives a nightmare to these regionalist selfish parties. The national consciousness of Bharat should always be promoted to stop these forces.
The present linguistic state model has not served any good purpose. Either dissolve or divide them to smaller states. These language & racist parties will dry of naturally. Tolerating them too long is not a wise move
