Yami Gautam Dhar, an actor who has proved her mettle movie after movie, recently grabbed the media attention after her befitting reply to Anupama Chopra’s Film Companion. Well, this is not the first time that someone has given it back to Anupama Chopra, she and her organization Film Companion have been, time and again, shredded by the ‘not so liberal’ actors and directors from within the industry.

Anupama Chopra’s FC spills venom against ‘Dasvi’
Yami Gautam Dhar’s recent release ‘Dasvi’ started streaming on Jio Cinema and Netflix on April 7, 2022. And the mafia of film critics with their reviews began doing rounds on the internet.
The most controversial film review came from Anupama Chopra’s organization Film Companion where the company disregarded Yami Gautam of her due. The organization not only criticized the actor’s acting skills and wrote “Yami Gautam is no longer the dead girlfriend in Hindi films, but the combative smile is starting to get repetitive.” The organization went below the belt to criticise the movie and called it a “juvenile storytelling”. The FC review read, “the kind of movie that will scold you for cringing at it, or for not leaving your brains at home (which is ironically where it will stream). It positions itself as the sort of low-stakes comedy designed to guilt-trip the viewer for ‘misreading’ humour as jarring mediocrity.”
In order to dismiss the film completely, the review article used very harsh words. One of the excerpts read, “It’s like a sanitized Adam Sandler comedy gone wrong, which is saying a lot, because Adam Sandler comedies are wrong to begin with.”

Yami Gautam knows well how to demolish Anupama Chopra’s narrative
The review dismissed the hard work put in by actress Yami Gautam Dhar in a very harsh and rude manner. Well, they forgot while writing that they were commenting on a woman who speaks her mind and knows to choose her side. Yet again, Yami Gautam gave a response that must have shaken Anupama Chopra to her core.
Before I say anything else, I’d like to say that I usually take constructive criticism in my stride. But when a certain platform keeps trying to pull you down consistently, I felt it necessary to speak up about it. https://t.co/GGczNekBhP pic.twitter.com/wdBYXyv47V

Yami posted a tweet thread where she requested the organization to not review her performance. She tore the organization apart by saying that FC not ‘reviewing’ her work is where she will find her grace.
The actor went to call out Anupama Chopra’s FC for mocking her acting skills in the subsequent tweets.
She wrote, “Before I say anything else, I’d like to say that I usually take constructive criticism in my stride. But when a certain platform keeps trying to pull you down consistently, I felt it necessary to speak up about it.” Yami went on write, “It takes years of hard work for anyone & especially a self-made actor like me to keep proving our mettle again & again with every opportunity. This is what it comes down to from certain reputed portals!”
She added that like many others she also, looked up to Film Companion, but she hasn’t done so in a long time now.
This is not the first time for Anupama Chopra
This is not the first time Anupama Chopra herself or her company Film Companion have stooped such lows. The left liberal film review agency ‘Film Companion’ had tried to coerce many like Vicky Kaushal, Sandeep Reddy Vanga and of course Vivek Agnihotri.

Anupama Chopra interviewed Vicky Kaushal who played the role of Major Vihan Shergill at the time of the release of Uri and tried to coerce Vicky Kaushal into bashing the film for patriotism through her subtle attacks, though in vain.
Recently, Vivek Agnihotri exposed how Anupama Chopra and her Film Companion tried to peddle their left-liberal agenda and sabotage his recent release ‘The Kashmir Files’. He even alleged that Chopra was trying to play “dirty tricks” in the background to target his movies and said that he was being targeted as he did not bend before the “establishment of the industry.”
Calling a movie good or bad is the choice of the reviewer but dismissing someone’s hard work for some hidden personal agenda shouldn’t be acceptable at all. Dasvi can be a good, bad, or worst film, the acting skills can be commented upon, but the self-acclaimed film reviewers should make sure that they do not cross the line while doing so.
